Can we please have our flight whistle back?

Isnt a big part of upgrading the thing in your covenant hall have to do with travel? I’m not sure how good it gets but is it possible eventually when its fully upgraded we are zooming all over and not caring about the whistle? Either way i definitely feel like the flight paths are a bit long, if anything.

They saw people complain about no flying so they made the maw and removed ground mounts.

there is, its only specific to that zone, and theres a portal to Oriboros at rank 3 from the sanctum.

O ok, i wasnt sure if it eventually became shadowlands wide or what.

Mounts are a far older mechanic than the whistle so why shouldn’t they be removed too?
I’m trying to understand why you arbitrarily draw the line at the whistle when your “spoiled” logic could be applied to any movement increasing effect.

they’re two different dynamics. mounts are essentially just a speed buff. these items are niche things you use for convenience. a better comparison are items like silas sphere. i mean if you wanted to just argue about “hey you said old items shouldnt’ be relevant but you still use mounts you know? lol” then i guess feel free.

but plenty of items lose power in the next expansion - or lose effectiveness.

i also answered your question already multiple times. i said that it’s an old item - it’s an old idea. they’re implementing new NICHE ways for convenience travel like waypoints - which i said is cooler and actually better than a flight master’s whistle.

i think you’re showing a huge lack of understanding in this game if you’re really comparing mounting up to convenience items like a flight master’s whistle. they don’t even work in the same way at all. flight master’s whistle is more of a teleport - not a speed enhancement lol…

Mounts and the whistle make travel more convenient. Neither serve any other purpose. At the core they are very similar - you’re just arguing over superficial differences. That’s not a strong reason as to why one is acceptable while the other is not.

You clearly used the age of the item as justification for its removal. As I pointed out that could be extended to mounts too.

The whistle was in the game for 4 years and 3 months. It’s hardly the one-off expansion novelty you’re claiming.

uh no. you click on yourself when you have a mount on it says your movement speed is increased by ____%. it is a movement speed buff. a flight master’s whistle is a teleport to the nearest flight path. they are two completely different dynamics, not even remotely the same.

i won’t argue if you just want to argue though because i’m trying to explain something to you and you’re just stubborn.

also waypoints serve the same purpose as a flight master’s whistle, except they aren’t tied to some 5 minute cooldown.

anyway yeah, i think i made my point pretty clear by now. hope you get better at world travel i guess…let me know if you need any tips cuz i actually do have some i can share if you want.

i like new expansion to have new fresh ideas…not use some 4 year old item that honestly sucks. i mean i guess it doesn’t suck for players that are having trouble with navigating the new zones, but that isn’t the majority of the playerbase…which is why i brought skill into this. no skilled player is complaining about feeling crippled because they don’t have a flight master teleport for 5 minutes. if you lack skill in something just ask questions - there’s plenty of people that can probably help you get around a zone safely and conveniently…you dont’ understand how many tricks i’ve learned just from listening to players that had a better idea than me.

Yeah missing the flight whistle. Wish there was at least the option to unlock the transport networks of other areas. Just the maw and covenant picked is pretty terrible, when they keep designing maps the way they do.

Agreed. It constantly feels like the devs are hazing us for just wanting to play the game.

As long as there are flight paths, it will be relevant.

If you’re bragging about getting around as a skill, you’re not that good at the game.

solid post there friend…thanks for your input lol

Because its not needed. On the flight whistle note inparticularly, it is not a tug of war. The developers wanted people to experience the zone. There is no experience to be had when you poof right to a flightmaster every time. Get on your mount and run. Deal with it.

Okay no.

We feel “entitled” to it because that was what we were given to replace how god-awful the game plays with pathfinder. That was the bone Blizzard threw at us. Now, in addition to pathfinder, they took away the flight whistle AND put in an end game zone that doesn’t just restrict flight, but mounts ENTIRELY.

Blizzard has a serious problem, and it’s their inability to identify real problems in the game. Flying was not a problem, nor should any development time have gone into their “solution.” And now the game is worse for wear because of it.

There is a reason Ion was booed at Blizzcon. Pathfinder sucks, and there is no lore justification for why our mounts get brain damage every expansion. The devs are simply too lazy or too unimaginative to work within the confines of flying.

And what great ideas did we get this expansion? Just more travel time is all I have seen.

well a waypoint system is a lot more innovative than a teleport with a 5 min cooldown.

that’s a start.

i mean they also added text to it that reads: *ONLY WORKS IN AREAS IN WHICH YOU HAVE UNLOCKED THE USE OF FLIGHT WHISTLE

to me that implies the item is not empowered in the shadowlands…just like my legendaries, artifacts, sphere, and multiple other items.

so yeah, i mean losing power or abilities from a previous expansion isn’t anythin new to this game…unless you are new and coming from like a different game or something.

lmao the developers wanted us to experience the legion and bfa zones too, sorry the anti-flying argument doesn’t work for the whistle.

don’t know what we you’re speaking for but you aren’t speaking for me. its a lazy device that catered to lazy players to offer fast travel options because people are too lazy actually bother to navigate the world in front of them anymore. there are fast travel options in the game specific to the covenant you pick now.

heaven forbid they do something different, and more than likely flying comes with 9.1 or 9.2 with some random gimmick device akin to flight whistles anyway. but they have the travel network for covenants for a reason
THEY WANT YOU TO USE IT STOP BEING LAZY BECAUSE THATS WHAT YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE IS THAT KEEPS WHINING ABOUT THIS STUPID WHISTLE

I saw some of the stuff in all caps and you honestly kinda disgust me with your rhetoric. Wow.
