Can we please buff Healing Stream Totem?

I want to use this ability as enhance or elemental but it heals for so little that it’s a waste of a global and a talent point.

It barely heals for more than a healing surge over its entire duration. Please make this ability useful again by greatly buffing the healing it does for enhance and elemental. Or buff it for all three specs and nerf the Resto talent that gives it a major increase. Either way.

It’s a fun ability and feels good to drop a totem that may actually help your group as a dps shaman but it currently does basically nothing.

Not only is it a bit underwhelming, the elemental resistance talent tied to it is just a bit too sporadic as a result.

If it prioritized you (I’m not sure it does) that would be one thing, but otherwise yeah it’s quite meh

There’s also a balance to be had as it shouldn’t be equivalent to say, AG. /shrug

On my beta character, healing stream totem heals for less than 1% health per tick. Over it’s entire duration it can actually heal for only a fraction of a single healing surge if you consider modifiers like MSW stacks on enhance and refreshing waters.

Plus, since you can’t control it, it could heal someone w/o earth shield which drops it another 20% relative to healing surge considering you’d typically have earth shield on someone you are using surges on.

Feels like the totem should heal for 2-3x what it is healing now. Similar to earth shield procs would be good. And earth shield right now is healing for almost 3x as much.

Please don’t forget about chain heal too. If storm build enhance is going to be forced to take chain heal to reach earth shield, then please make it a button worth pressing at some point.

As is, it costs almost DOUBLE the mana as healing surge while healing the main target for SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN HALF of what healing surge heals for. And that’s before considering refreshing waters which doesn’t affect chain heal casts on the shaman.

Curious if swirling currents ever got integrated into HST or if it just does 40% less now

Also, kinda unrelated but i really wish they would take totems off the gcd.

At least on enhance, swirling currents was +80% if you put 2 points in.

And no, I don’t think it was incorporated at all. I think healing stream totem is just 80% weaker now. Which is one of the reasons why I think it needs a major boost in output to remain relevant.

And now health pools are going up by 60%. They increased healing surge up somewhat and doubled enhance MSW healing back to where it used to be, but made no adjustment to any of the other healing like healing stream, earth shield, or chain heal. Although I think they did bump earth shield a bit when when they removed the improved shields talent.

Blizzard often does the same thing in PvP - bumping just healing surge to address survivability and forgetting about chain heal which ends up making chain heal a dead button despite it being required for certain builds (enhance storm) to access earth shield.

On beta, my enhance shaman’s healing surge is healing for over 300k before taking into account 25% bonus from refreshing waters (so 375k w/the talent). Chain heal is healing main target for 130k (about 1/3rd of healing surge after factoring in refreshing waters). Despite costing almost twice as much mana. Makes no sense.
