Can we please ban the bots in Anniversary?

There are bots farming via scripts and addons on darkmoon faire vendors in TBC Classic Anniversary…they are cycling through the NPCs that sell various goods on random intervals faster than humanly possible and yet they are NOT being banned/suspended i see the same bots there every month and report them all week long and yet they NEVER leave the vendor they sit there for anywhere from 8-16hours on the same layer in the same spot…and NOTHING is being done about them…this is an abuse on the economy to allow these people to continue to do this to those of us that are ACTUALLY present at our computer while a program is literally doing their work for them…reporting does nothing…screenshots and timestamps with open tickets do NOTHING…yall are just actively allowing through your inaction to take action…please do SOMETHING to keep them from being able to do this EVERY MONTH…its not just the darkmoon faire that it happens to i am well aware…however this is DAY 1 of the faire and every layer is already completely flooded with lvl 1-3 toons that dont move and seem to be able to cycle through the NPCs faster than an actual human can…i dont understand how your company actively discourages 3rd party programs but wont actually step in when constant reports of these types of offenses flood in and NOTHING HAPPENS….i watch players run up to the vendors see and target the lvl 1 or 3 toon and then dont even bother with the vendor cuz they already know as do i they are simply botting for the contents…

There’s been the same level 68 druid farming herbs in netherstorm for over a month now.

I’m not saying he’s a bot, but he sure doesn’t like to level fast.

I’m curious if they ever do find some way of banning all bots overnight, how that would affect the population. At one point, Runescape was literally 50% bots and banning them tanked their profits overnight so much, they quickly introduced micro transactions to stay afloat.

Not saying that will happen here but you know blizz… they love money.

In before Eastcoast comes in making excuses for the bots cause he doesn’t want his account banned

I don’t think my 1 level 70 warlock is a bot. I did some dungeons last night. didn’t see any bots that you claimed were infesting lfg dungeons.

I got a bot killed yesterday. Well maybe not part of a large botnet, perhaps it was someone running botting software on their main account. You know, gotta grind that gold while you’re busy doing IRL stuff, right? Who cares about the players who devote their time in-game at the keyboard actually grinding.

It was entertaining watching this Paladin in his tank gear get slowly bonked to death by a Bonechewer Backbreaker. This is the second player running botting software I’ve encountered, and both are Alliance scumbags. I made a toon on the Alliance to help garner reports, but scum are gonna scum.

They are being constructive, by being realistic. You think you’re the first person in the history of forever to complain about bots? That Blizzard is going to have some sort of epiphany because of your post has made them aware of something they didn’t know about before?

Blizzard. Doesn’t. Care.

Why would they? They have no incentive to fix botting, those are easy subs that make them $. It’s not a big enough issue to them because people keep paying and playing the game despite botting. This world has far too many crayon munchers that reward Blizzard with $ for lvl 58 boosts, deluxe edition upgrades, etc. for them to care about fixing it.

You’re barking to the wind… kthxbye

Lets explore this post for a moment shall we?

No…they arent…they are coming on essentially telling me to go play something else…thats not contributing or being constructive.

Never made this claim at all did i?

Thats what these forums are for is it not? to bring attention to devs that are otherwise occupied with other tasks…

If they didnt care then anyone could use 3rd party bot programs without fear of being banned or losing their accounts…as they just did a suspension wave about a month ago for the runed arcanite rod recipe for those that were using script macros to purchase it calling it “exploitive gameplay” i would argue very much against them “not caring”

again they do fix these problems when they are notified that there are issues…otherwise the recipe mentioned above wouldnt be on a semi personal CD now would it?

Colorful…

Apparently you ignored the part of the post where i said they are lvl 1 or lvl 3 characters…none of these players are 58 in my complaints or reports…even tho I am sure there are plenty of Communal bots out there…overall none of what you said holds any weight and you are simply out here sewing the seeds of misinformation….

You’re being obtuse and disingenuous on purpose. Yeah they do the bare minimum with ban waves and pretending to do something about it periodically to give the false pretense that they care about it. You really think a company with as much capital as Blizzard couldn’t do something about the bots and make them a non-issue overnight if they actually gave a damn? What a charming naivety. My fault for engaging with a troll alt account that doesn’t want to live in reality and just wants to virtue signal that they’re such a good WoW-Andy because “bots bad”.

I honestly don’t mean to be discouraging, but if they were willing and able to ban the bots, as you put it, they’d have already done it. Either they aren’t really able to spot them, or they don’t care enough to do it on a case by case basis. Alternately perhaps they just don’t care. I don’t KNOW the answer, but I do know what we see.

The people making excuses for blizzard, excuses for the bots, denying they exist, or otherwise downplaying their impact are 100% botting themselves. Just ignore them and keep complaining.

oh please… every mage bot in the game farming primals is running around with at least 1 lifestone on as a trinket. The troll mage bots that consistently fall from the sky and land at exactly 20% health is another dead giveaway. The lvl 70s running around with 100% green boe gear are clear as a bell. They know exactly what you said in a battle ground, they know exactly who sent you gold and where it came from, they know everything about this game. They know who the bots are!

the people defending this is wild to me, they obv are botters themselves kek

Surely Blizzard will “meaningfully fix” the problem in the next maintenance patch.

Blizzard likes their bots, they inflate the numbers on player population while getting to lie to their investors on how popular the game actually is. (Which I’m quite sure is grounds for some lawsuits)

It is horrific in the dumpster fire Midnight too.

Bots pay subs, banning them makes Blizzard lose $$$.

I just have to say: beep boop beep bop.

Microactiblizz is too cash strapped to afford human gm intervention. They clearly do not care. The banwaves that do go out are so low effort that normal people get hit by it and have to fight with automated GM systems to get it reversed two weeks later.
