Can we please address the Tuesday lag?

I still haven’t had any lag on the Maw world boss, nor have I ever seen anyone complain about lag.

And trust me, when Bjornham (or whatever his name was) that dropped the 34-slot bag during the Shadowlands pre-launch was pulled, EVERYBODY in the zone was complaining about the lag. So people will say something… but I’ve never seen a peep about it on the Maw world boss.

So while I don’t doubt this is an issue, it’s not a universal one.

I’m gonna say the same thing to you - check the timestamps in the screenshot. 4:15 in the afternoon EST is hours after reset, and hours after the realm came up. That comment doesn’t apply in this situation.

Four second loot lag with a 23ms ping at same time everyone on the server is experiencing the same massive loot and combat lag, is not my computer.

It’s blizzard setting things up to only handle about 50% of peak load.

Assuming you guys are playing on the servers your toons are on, both Gorefiend and Staghelm are on the Chicago data center…

Now here comes my question. Hyjal is fairly well populated, yes? I also know Hyjal wasn’t connected with Proudmoore like it was planned to be.

Sleezy is from Firetree, which is another well populated realm. Is it connected? Gorefiend is connected with five other realms, those being Gorefiend, Zangarmarsh, Hellscream, Eredar, Spinebreaker, and Wildhammer. Could it be because some groups of realms are connected to more realms than others? Maybe it’s being stretched too thin.

Firetree & Hyjal are both Los Angeles datacenter.

Maybe it’s a Chicago problem. I dunno.

I’ve had issues on stormrage and misha, especially during the maldraxxus world boss and recently in korthia

Ok now let’s factor in people also coming home from work and to be honest there is always going to be a lag on Tuesdays because it is the reset and everyone who hasn’t played since they did their raid log is back to continue the campaign for the week .

Tuesday is pretty much when we all as players inadvertently ddos the game .

It’s interesting because Gorefiend when I first moved here in MOP was EST but then when Crossrealm happened, we got put on Wildhammer’s home realm, which was Central. And I remember being miffed about it back then.

Hyjal was originally the Phoenix datacenter, which was shut down and all the server boards were migrated to Los Angeles.

I remember it because it was during Siege of Orgrimmar, and when the servers came back up that Thursday, all our raid lockouts from 2 days before had been wiped. Great if you were doing farm, terrible if you were extending for prog.

And Tuesday night is the most popular raid night, and the night when most people who wanna push arena will jump in. Again, I understand that. But I also understand Tuesday being reset is the day where a lot of people are looking to get their stuff done so they can perform at proper levels in their chosen content fields. Saying “just play later and be a detriment to your teams” isn’t exactly a good solution.

Why does the zone lag then ? its perfectly fine before the boss is pulled. Immediately after boss is pulled no matter where you are in the zone you lag. It now becomes a “Oh wait somebody pulled the world boss” event.

Why is it happening in SL and why not BFA or others? there is always one performance issue Blizzard has in each expansion In legion it was the Dalaran loading screen which got fixed in BFA lmao

It doesn’t, for me and many others. Not before the boss is pulled, when the boss is pulled, after the boss is pulled, or if you’re right there fighting the boss when it’s pulled.

I did the boss about 3 hours ago in a full raid group. No issues.

Not saying to play later . I was just agreeing with Earthan… Is anyone surprised that Tuesdays are laggy when all of us WoW addicts jump on as soon as the servers come up .

We all complain about the problem without realizing we are the problem .

We come in here complaining that they take the game down for an hour most weeks because we need our fix and we need it right now .

We come in here complaining it it is down for a few hours so they can add more stuff to the game and then we complain because there are problems causing it to be extended to even later.

We are so impatient for our little video game that we are not happy until we can all log in and get our

As soon as those servers come up it’s like opening the doors to Target to a hundreds of suburban wives on Black Friday .

I don’t care if the game’s down for that long. If being down for 8 hours (again) means the servers would be stable (again) and I would be able to actually do my Tuesday shenanigans without lag (again), I’d be fine with it.

Not to mention, I think Brewa might be up to something involving the data centers. Maybe Chicago’s just having some kind of problem.

That could be a possibility . I know my 4 main servers are there even though the L.A. center is closer to me .

The screenshot in the OP shows Wildhammer, Zangarmarsh, Hellscream, and Eredar, which are all also Chicago servers. And I personally have experienced similar lag on Stormrage and Malygos, which are also Chicago servers.

Chicago is the majority of US servers so I’m not sure how much this means. (And obviously the servers in the screenshot were all CRZ’d together which probably prefers same datacenter.) But whoever at Blizzard is looking into this (and if someone isn’t yet, they should start!) would be well advised to start their investigation in Chicago.

Well you had me up until here. You just contradicted yourself.
Now, how would you suggest Blizzard remedy routing out on the internet?

In my experience it does for me and many others lol
