Can we now start talking about covenants sucking?

So I’m not even a month in and I’m going to have to change my covenants on both the characters I play

I started off as venthyr on a survival hunter, I still love that ability but sadly let’s face it, the ability was hot garbage
Once I started doing arena I provided me with very little value aside from a few top RNG moments but once I swapped to kyrian I had streamlined burst and it has been a much better choice all round for everything I do in game

Now they’ve nerfed kyrian on rogues in PvP, oh the sub tears I must be trying
But I’m not; I’m an outlaw rogue; I play outlaw in PvP and they just completely gutter stomped the ability out of existing purely because sub has 2 passive damage modifiers in shadow dance, a damage modifier in symbols for death, shadow blades which was basically a damage modifier granting way more damage, a 100% crit chance with symbols and a stupid legendary they were never going to be able to balance

So I’ve been slammed once by covenants just purely for taking a bad option and slammed twice because blizzard don’t know how to balance PvP at all and just deleted an ability because it was broken on 1 spec

Either they hire some random guy off the forums to tell them were the balance is broken or they blood do something about these stupid convents and nerfing the living life out of them

i like the idea of the covenants but the added spells of course we all knew what was gonna happen which make it suck imo. you got people like me who love 1 covenant but because we try to min max for w.e. reason ( i just min max cause i want to squeeze out as much dmg/healing as i can im not hardcore or w.e. ) so basically we forced to take covenants we don’t really care for outside of the whole min maxing stuff.

either way though im just waiting to see people who are skilled using weaker covenants for their class/spec. the covenant i want the ability is kinda weird feeling to use thus why i didn’t really choose it either.

Covenant abilities were a huge mistake.

It’s just annoying that they’ve ham fisted nerfed two abilities I liked in pvp to death and neither of them were insane on both specs I played

I even stuck with the ability I wanted for my hunter even after it’s almost 80% nerf in the beta and it wasn’t even the best ST choice then

i don’t pvp so can’t really say i mean i do but casually and i suck. the whole ability thing though we all knew they were going to nerf/buff stuff but not when thus why it was a mistake.

the way i look at it is like houses where people have built them but they did a piss poor job to the point they have major issues. i seen one online from a streamer their home they were renting had a drainage pipe on a slopped hill so when it rained all the water and leaves clogged the drain and flooded the house when it was storming.

I like the speed boost that the fae people have and the door of shadows that the vampire people have. The other ability on both my 60’s is garbage, so I just don’t really bother with them much.

I will continue to meme on people who thought covenants were fine.

Actively participated in making the game worse overall for no reason what so ever

Yeah, everyone was like hur hur player choice muh “RPG” game.

This game is not worth viewing from a Roleplaying aspect.

The content is doing dungeons and raids and PVP.

And it’s important and normal to want to succeed in those things.

I actually thought they’d tune covenants to be on par with the OP ones… but apparently in the recent interview with ion, he’s happy how everything is and doesn’t see reason to change it…

So now as a Venthyr Warlock, I was just confirmed my dps loss to cast ability will always remain of my hot bar… unless I change covenants …

There’s actually a lot of people who do care about it on a more RPG aspect.
GD is not like that but other sidesof the fandom are WAY bigger on it.

It’s just so redundant.

Why not just open the covenants up like their emergency button planned.

If these people in question wanted the roleplaying aspect it’s still there.

Nothing is lost.

I think this is an important step to try though. Is actually a pretty cool thing that brings forth more meaningful customization. Tossing it away so quickly with so little data wouldn’t be a good idea.

Specially since is not like 99% have gone to their “ideal” covenant. It is a majority yeah but is less than 50%.

Its not less than 50%. Druids alone are closer to 90% lol.

After the hotfixes, Night Fae for rogues will be increasing as well.

Yeah and they shouldn’t be holding the rest of the playing population hostage even though changing it would have 0 effect on them

Also we have numbers on this; shocker; most people picked what icy veins said was the best

Turns out people that will be using an ability in almost every combat interaction they get into starts weighing on them more than 1 transmog set

Just say Necrolords.

It doesn’t bring forth meaningful customisation, it brings forth annoying customisation, limitations on balancing and player frustrations

Their last quarterly meeting looked great - with all the game purchases and luring people into 6 month subs. But I feel like it might not be so fine 5 or so months from now.
