Nah dude, RP servers are very social
Even my tiny RP server is pretty social. I was also in a Timewalking group randomly with a couple of others from my server and we had a blast chatting it up in the dungeon and then in trade chat afterwards.
Modern servers would be fine. I canât imagine the toasters that run some of the older games though, lol. Imagine the producers actually investing in infrastructure and optimization instead of trying to squeeze blood from a stone.
You must have the same line of thought as that one âengineerâ working on DreamworldâŚ
The game slows to a crawl on world bosses. I couldnât imagine the lag of a mega server.
Can you imagine trade chat on a super ultra megaserver? Would you even be able to read anything as it zooms by?
wow hmm I might have to try one out, and get an RP name, etc. I had to roll on Area 52 cause nowhere else spoke at all.
I vote no.
Even on my RP server I find things annoying when vying for resources to do quests or gather.
I have toons on high pop servers and it is far worse there.
Leave my RP servers alone.
I moved from Aggramar waaay back in the day to Madoran (they were giving free server transfers since Madoran was new and Aggramar was packed), then I moved to Proudmoore in MoP, itâs far more populated than Madoran was and I see people all the time.
I enjoyed Area 52 when i was on that server but i must say , ive enjoyed being on a less packed server Turalyon more .
Farming on a dead server was god tier, little to no competition for a lot of stuff back when I played Madoran. I like feeling like the world is alive though, seeing randoms pass by is something I enjoy. Especially when Iâve got war mode on.
People already complain about a lack of spawns during quests. Putting us all on one server will certainly fix that issue. /s
This. There are entirely too many non rpârs on moonguard.
I love farming, its so relaxing , even with warmode on . I do miss the cheaper mats of area 52 but i donât miss the constant rat race and trolling that went on
Itâs far better with the nodes being shareable now. I just toke up or have a few beers and farm for a few hours. I list my matâs and move on, I donât get any drama with it.
They can barely handle TWW launch and everything since, yet you think they could mitigate everyone one 1 giant server.
Nice dream though.
Not a good idea, Iâm afraid. MMOâs with fewer servers usually compensate by hitting you with a loading screen every time you enter a different zone or city boundaryâŚand then they have serious issues if everyone crowds into one place for any given reason.
Man, Major cities are going to be packed. Stormwind is going to need a major plumbing upgrade if it doesnât want to smell like Ogrimar in August all year round.
I like to point out that the pond in the Valley of Honor is the lowest point in Orgrimmar (not counting the cleft underground), so the whole city drains into itâŚyet, players fish from it, or even swim in it.
Remember those three-eyed fish you used to catch in the polluted goblin area of the city? Guess where they migrated to
then stop playing on a dead server.
