Can we go back to weekly caps instead of daily caps?

I and many others just are not able to log on every single day, and we’re perpetually behind because of it.

If it was a weekly limit, we’d be able to catch up and stay somewhat relevant on the days that we’re able to log in.

Caps for what?

I guess my biggest gripe is rep, but in general. I feel like the game heavily rewards people who can log in every single day.

I still don’t know what you are talking about.

it does reward players who log in every day… if you play the game more, you will have a better character sheet in terms of gear, rep, pretty much everything. Thats perfectly okay

If I play 7 hours on one day and someone else plays 1 hour a day for 7 days I’m still behind despite playing the same amount. That’s the problem.

7 hours should be 7 hours.

Well there really isn’t a daily cap on reputation because it is limited by daily quests and not a cap system. Not sure how they could fix that without adding some kind of grindable source for reputations and then implementing a cap.

That would be wonderful

Wearing tabards comes to mind. It would let you get a small amount of rep for that faction each time you do something. This worked wonderfully in the past and shouldn’t of been removed.

If you don’t do the mini-vision daily, you miss out on a LOT of coalescing visions and are limited as to the number you can run. For those who cannot play daily, this extends the time it takes to reach rank 15 on the cloak, and for those already at 15, it limits their ability to ensure they get the malefic core each week. (although…one full clear should be doable for anyone who logs in once per week).

Reputation? I mean, get a contract and do all three emissaries when you log in. Missing a few days of non-emissary dailies can be made up for. Unless you’re talking about the ability to grind essence or something.

For sure, with the two factions we’re grinding rep with in Uldum and Panda, not being on every day is an issue for the rep-related essence rewards at revered.

I don’t know why we need caps at all, I’ve never understood why people got so upset that other people got done first when everyone had to do the exact same things.

Daily limits punish everyone who can’t play every single day. Weekly is much better. Just like in college, the best classes had work due once per week so you can get it done whatever time fits best for each individual.

Preach. Just let me grind as much as I want

Sure but my point is there isn’t a cap on your reputation gain, so they would have to create that system and then modify BFA to work with the “tabard”. At this point, it’s not really worth it for BFA. Maybe for SLs and beyond…

What is the “daily” worthwhile activity even?

Lesser visions for 1500 CE?

What possible reason could you have for not being able to log in for THIRTY MINUTES to an HOUR a day? The only real ‘dailies’ we have are the Assault Zones.
Everything else is weekly. M+ (one 15+), One 5 Mask, 2-4 Island Expeditions, Conquest Cap, etc.

Well a job, for one. plenty of folks have to put in 12+ hour shifts, and no, you need to sleep so you can do it again the next day.

That’d be an excuse if I didn’t know from experience, that the 12 hour/day excuse is balogney.
As a Land Surveyor, I make my own schedule. I work like 3, 12 hour days a week and then a 4 hour day and I still manage to do every daily.

Edit: And I maintain my social life. Weekly BBQ. Girlfriend. Contact w/ extended family. Charity.

We have our winner. We don’t all have that luxury.

I work 4 12s a week, sometimes three days back to back. Every other weekend. Up at 4:30, work 6-18:30, home at 7, cook, clean, walk the dog, bed by 9:30.

WoW doesn’t fit into that schedule, and I shouldn’t have to force it into my life to stay relevant.

WOW has to show investors something to merit its continue support. It use to be sub numbers but that went from 12 million to 300k. WOW relies on “time played” metric and MAU’s to impress investors now. That’s why everything in WOW nowadays is an endless grindfest with 50 different grinds that need to be completed ASAP.
