I know it’s never gonna happen. I don’t care if it does or doesn’t happen. I play solo content so I don’t have to worry about loot tables and beggars. I gear up just fine in my solo content and then I use story mode versions to see the other stuff.
Then they’ll whine about something else. The “problem” being complained about is that they didn’t get an item they want this week and have to either get it in vault or get it later (or just buy an equivalent a delve vendor/bloody token vendor).
so the problem is we need to get rid of group content and turn everything solo so that people can stop whining. Because if nobody else is there getting the loot next to them, they have nothing to complain about lol what are they gonna do vote kick the AI? ![]()
They absolutely were coming into threads and stating that ML shouldn’t come back because all raids should use PL and that raiders should just deal with it.
I was here and I remember those threads.
You’re having selective memory here.
No the solution is to have some popcorn and laugh when people come and complain about someone else stealing their loot.
Raiding was originally created as a guild activity. In a guild setting, losing a roll to a teammate is fine, because you know they’re going to be right beside you performing better next week, and you’ll probably get the next one.
I don’t think it’s fair to paint the situation entirely like that, there are some legitimate grievances with the current system and it’s hard to have a constructive dialogue when people take such a position.
Keep in mind that they were perfectly fine with losing rolls in the old system, simply because the rolls (so to speak) were invisible.
It is absolutely correct to state that their problem, is with seeing other people win loot that they consider “theirs”.
And this is why I only play with friends and guild mates. I don’t like the drama. And if I don’t need the item, I’ll give it to one of my friends. Especially if it helps them get an extra level or two. At the end of the day, people playing with randoms are essentially playing roulette. The odds are not in their favor And they have to contend with the drama that comes with it. It’s just a start reminder every day, why I love my solo content and why I only play with friends.
Also, if it doesn’t go into their bag, it’s not their loot
The complaint here is literally that the OP says someone else won their dagger.
It’s absolutely fair.
Looking at the people complaining about loot speaks volumes on their attitudes and entitlement.
Pleas tell them that. Maybe we can have less of these threads lol
So your alternative system is… also watching people with way higher gs than you taking daggers and equipment except they no longer get a choice in the matter?
Personal loot sucks, get over it.
You can get better gear for less effort outside of LFR, with no competition on guaranteed loot. Whining about the overgeared people carrying you through LFR because they want mogs is wild.
In case it wasn’t clear, i was talking about the broader conversation, not one individual person or situation. I don’t even have a pony in this race, because i personally don’t care about LFR or its loot, all I’m saying is that i understand where some of the detractors of the current system are coming from.
It isn’t helpful to dismiss anyone that doesn’t like the current system as entitled or a toddler having a tantrum or whatever. As i said earlier, it’s hard to even have a dialogue when it keeps getting framed in such a way.
It’s not possible to have a dialogue with people that don’t even understand one systems work.
I was really hoping to avoid having to explain (AGAIN) how personal and group loot work, but I might as well.
Here’s what the game engine does in personal vs group loot:
Personal Loot:
- How many items drop? (based off group size)
- Which players get items? (random selection) ← this is the “roll” stage
- Randomly select items from those players’ loot tables, and put in their bags.
Group Loot:
- How many items drop? (based off group size)
- Randomly select items from boss loot table.
- Players can roll for items that drop ← This is the “roll” stage
Let’s talk about the OP’s dagger.
With group loot:
- The dagger drops.
- OP loses the roll.
- The dagger still exists.
With personal loot:
- OP loses the roll.
- The game selects something from another player’s loot table.
- There is no dagger.
OP is asking for the dagger to have never existed.
This makes no sense to me.
Whether it’s personal loot or rolling LFR just kind of sucks for gear even on an alt that can use vet gear.
They should double the number of drops in LFR since it’s such a low quality item track you only use temporarily.
I understand how it works and I’m here trying to have a dialogue ![]()
I told them that all the time when I still bother to queue with randoms. I’m only polite here because I don’t want to be banned. However, in the game, I’m not afraid to light into them and tell them exactly what I think of them and their entitlement.
If you don’t win the roll and it doesn’t land in your bag, it’s not yours.
Sometimes you just have to say it louder for the people in the back.
