Your BM/MM specs would basically be ghosts that don’t show up on ladder unless you pass main regardless of rating/position. The only problem is that would enable que sniping in off specs to farm competition. Granted you can do same on duplicate characters/alts anyway though.
Off specs would basically have greyed out preseason rating sheets until they surpass main.
You still run in to the problem of higher rated players artificially gatekeeping lower ranked brackets. Imagine facing Borngood, Pikaboo and Rudar in a 1800 match…

But 3 R1 players in a 3s match… Thats just not going to fly.
It already is gonna feel that way with how many alts and duplicate class characters people have.
With how easy it is to powerlevel/gear another toon expect to see 2 or 3 S1 mounts barreling at you out the gates 75%+ of your games regardless of rating these days.
Especially with lack of participation and solo shuffle eating the rest of playerbase.

This is just taking the problem of 1 player with multiple characters to 1 player with multiple characters with multiple specs.
My concern is for people who want to push to 2100-2400 to be gate kept by the R1 player that can just flick a switch and be America in Iraq on 2100 andys.
