Can We Get Some Actual Privacy In This Game?

Ive been playing since vanilla and I wasn’t privy to any of this nor did I participate in it. I also never used any gearscore addon. The only addons Ive used are things that help me utilize the ui.

One example, In BC I made an addon called PetEXPBar. There was no onscreen pet experience bar then. I made one that kept track of experience, happiness and loyalty. It also showed the last food you gave your pet or the pet food buff it had, I can’t remember this detail very well. It was draggable and lockable to wherever you wanted it

Another addon I came up with was a framestrata background for the quest tracker. I never pinned this one down exactly the way I wanted.

Now there are people that can make addons that I dont even understand the code for. Once they got that advanced I quit trying to learn LUA on my own.

I’ve explained it plenty of times, you’re just not getting it.
You can be stalked, harassed and tracked through it.

Your Bnet tag is amazing to share for spam, so good on you for that. Hope you didn’t change it right away or - lied about it, since you’re keen on getting it out there.

That’s NOT an explanation. How? How can access to my Armory page allow someone to stalk, harass, track, or otherwise ‘harm’ me?!?

The only thing anybody can do with my Bnet tag is send me friend requests, which I can ignore, decline, or accept as I deem appropriate. If I ignore your friend request, and just let it sit there unanswered, you can’t ever send me another. Similarly, I can decline your request and block you from sending another. You can’t stalk me, you can’t dox me, you literally can’t do anything.

Same thing applies to my character profile.

You can just tell everyone you’re not very good without going on this crusade.

I gotta wonder how many people instantly looked at your profile.

umm… I’m starting to wonder if you understand how anything, anything, actually works.

we used to have an entire thread devoted solely to people sharing their btags, just so they could connect with other players with shared interests.

nobody can do anything nefarious with your btag.
this is the only blizzard forum which currently doesn’t use battletag as a user ID.

It’s simply not possible to spam anyone via btag.
It’s just not.

Nope, Have never changed it, and have no reason to lie about it.

I do that pretty much every day IRL too…

I just changed my identity from Not good to not bad and I get invites now
