Increased drops are a non-factor either way.
Even if they increased drops Era has been on Naxx for 6 years they’re not gonna get outgeared by a bunch of Anni X-fers.

The only gear you keep from Vanilla into TBC raiding is Naxx gear.
Everything else is replaced by leveling greens in the first 2-3 zones.
You absolutely don’t need 40 ppl. That’s why we are suggesting to cap it to 20.
Can’t speak for other classes but as a warrior literally 30 seconds after hitting 70, I had only replaced my neck, ring (auchindoun spirit shard ring), trinket (got hourglass before 70), and my ranged weapon.
Before we did our first raid I had only replaced helm, shoulders (crafted), cloak, boots (crafted), the other ring, and my weapon (I didn’t have a naxx 2h though big unfort). And I had swapped back to my naxx neck.
AQ and Naxx gear lasts well into preraid bis depending on the item, and BWL gear will get you to 70 nbd.
Even better after looking at my screenshots I wore my Naxx belt until the crafted belt from T5 (red belt of battle, 4 months after hitting 70). Some of those items are crazy good.
I wasn’t 100% on AQ, but I knew Naxx gear lasted 5ever.
BWL is gone by Nagrand or BEM.
Depends on the piece. Styleens (my beloved) forever bis. Literally insane at 60, insane while leveling to 70, insane at 70, insane while leveling to 80 (warrior soloing Botanica from 70->78), insane at 80, insane for shenanigans (warrior soloing Halls of Lightning from level 80->82) while leveling to 85 in Cata. Actually I’d kinda be down to do the HoL solo farm again, is this further proof of my mental illness?
It’s the only item I’ve kept in my bank from vanilla classic that doesn’t have an appearance. I kept my Gressil and my Naxx pieces for the flex, almost everything else is gone now that we have transmog. But that Styleens went the distance.
Gear scarcity is what makes Vanilla WoW such a toxic place filled with bots, RMT and greedy/corrupt loot allocation.
Speeding up the release cadence without increasing loot drops only escalates these negative behaviors.
Sometimes I think Blizzard is completely incompetent but then I remember they just don’t give a F***. This is a cash grab targeting dumb nostalgics. “Thanks for the subscription money… now get lost.”
It’s not about outgearing, it’s that there should not be any shortcut to bypass gearing at 1x rates that people in Era farmed at.
Yes, raiders in Era will still be more geared in general because they’ve put more time in- and anyone else on that server should have to put in the same volume of time to reach that iLvl.
