the best scenario for the wow forums is to allow fully anonymous posting so that everyone can feel secure and safe enough to have kind conversations with eachother.
btags just aren’t good for the wow forums,sorry.

I think we should go with a different method of identification. I call them Tags of Battle. They will be a name followed by a series of numbers, much like BattleTags are now, but these will be displayed on a military personnel style identification tag that will come in 6 wonderful colors such as Orange, Green, Blue, and 3 other exciting colors!

… until it emboldens people to harass and spread more hate because now there’s no name to associate with.

I know when I think of boards where anonymous posting is the norm I think of healthy communities and not the absolute cesspools of internet humanity that spawn some of the worst clusters of users.

anonymous posting will embolden people to let go of their prior bias and treat everyone with respect and kindness.
Anonymous posting does not me feel more healthy or better.
Battle tags would be the best for the entire forum community as a whole.

anonymous posting genuinely is the best thing for the wow forums - allow people to feel more secure and have their privacy feel safe, then everyone will enjoy posting on the wow forums.
This is yet another great example disproving the notion of witch hunts are coordinating silencing

This crusade for anonymous posting on the forums is… honestly I don’t care who brings it up, anonymous posting only makes it that much more possible for someone to get away with hateful, bigoted, or harassing statements without being able to trace it back to someone. At least with the current system, you can reactively avoid people that do so, or block them, based on their character; there’s no such security in an anonymous system, and it will make things objectively less safe than current.
