Well, other Blizzard games already use Battletags on their forums, so yes.
I am not sure about on their forums, but I know Final Fantasy XIV does. Unsure about Guild Wars 2 or ESO, never had to ignore anyone in those games.
Are the FF 14 forums as polite as the game? I’m pretty sure they would not tolerate the kinds of things that go on here.
Honestly not sure. I never actually used the forums.
The FF14 forums are just as bad as here if not worse in some respects
Not sure about GW2 forums but everything in game is linked to a specific ID. Friends list, all your alts, guilds, even progress is account-wide and by your game ID. I can only assume their forums are the same way.
This is the only Blizzard forum that does not have account wide ignore.
Account wide ignores would make life easier for many posters.
However, I don’t believe it will solve every issue to do with harassment etc.
Really now? What did she do or say that was bigoted? Now i’m curious.
Keeping game related feedback and off-topic threads in the same forum has always been somewhat, hmm counterproductive at times . Having both is great, but they should think about splitting GD into two.
Why?
Well okay I take it back a little, it’s been this way for so long so why change now. But from the beginning that’s how they should have implemented it. It would have made it so feedback doesn’t get buried by non-feedback.
Blizzard employs people whose job is to sift through the forums, distilling out the feedback.
Gw2 has it, but rarely seen anyone use it due to how friendly the community is there. Also, I think with Gw2, you’re posting from your actual account, not your character.
Anyone that expects it to is a dreamer, anyone arguing against such because it won’t is a fool.
Nothing will ever be perfect, but sometimes the goal is not to totally do away with some things but to make it harder to do so or so that the only ones that are doing so REALLY need to work to do it or rethink their lives and how they treat otehrs.
If the argument is to clearly define a space for feedback vs off topic to make those people’s jobs easier, I can get behind that.
Good to know. I am not too familiar with the Guild Wars 2 forums. Thank you for clarifying!
There is no need to slit GD into 2 sections one for game the other for off topic because there already is a off topic section to the forums
They had a feedback forum. Not everybody used it. Its existence didn’t prevent people from posting feedback wherever they wanted. It was a waste of time and resources, so it was eliminated. Feedback should be posted in the most relevant forum (PvP feedback in the PvP forums, class feedback in the appropriate class forum, etc., and of course, general feedback would go here, in General Discussion).
Adding my support for:
account wide ignores
account wide likes
account wide flags
account wide trust levels
account wide total post count
Chiming in as well. Seeing new sockpuppets in other threads in the past week.
