since you always see a “hidden message” when you ignore someone, you will just be able to see every message from someone you ignore.
so if account-wide ignore were to be implemented, a person could ignore someone then search the forums for all the hidden messages and just find their alt.
this is why account wide ignore cannot be implemented.

yes, you just confirmed right here that what i said is a fact:
when you ignore someone, you see a hidden message that allows you to expand the hidden message and open it up, then view who wrote the message.
this is why we cannot have account wide ignores on the forums.

well i have a few people on ignore in this thread and 100% of their posts show as “hidden message.”
i confirmed this by removing everyone from ignore and then confirming that none of their posts were absent from the “view hidden message.”
And in other threads I have learned that people I have on ignore were posting and yet on my screen there was no hidden post. So this is something the system can do as it already does.
And since your source has said that the search is unreliable, it seems your fears are even more unfounded than they are from the surface.

i am my own source, i did the search myself.
the MVP states that they wish to no longer see the “view 1 hidden reply” meaning that the MVP currently does see a “view 1 hidden reply” for an ignored message.
It is quite rude to lie about what other people say.
