i just wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on account wide ignore with you. my main problem with account wide ignore is that it can be used to find people’s alts on the forum. So, for example, say you post on this warlock but you also post on another character as well, then account wide ignore would allow people to find all your other alts that post on the forums. here is how i explained it earlier basically the person ignores your warlock, searches the forum for “hidden messages…

Swap to a character youve never posted on. Clean block list. Ignore the character in question, search for “hidden reply”.
I tried it last night. Its wonky a bit, but doable.
When I searched for hidden replies, people on my ignore list absolutely were listed…but not all of them, which was odd.
His view is that with the account block, ALL of his alts now show the ‘‘hidden reply’’ thing so you could now see them all.

i am so thankful that you made a further inquiry into my statement so that i would be given the opportunity to educate those who are just entering the thread now.

you wouldn’t be entirely correct with this statement… the whole reason why i have been posting in this thread is because i love the forums as they currently are and i genuinely believe that a change that allows account-wide ignore will not be good for the health of the wow forum community.

Yeah, with the flagged post, I hope Blizzard actually takes actual action against the trolling rather than shutting down the entire thread and punishing everyone.

We should have every right to have a place to discuss this topic, or even BTags. This is the thing that currently upsets me about the forum moderation, it feels like IMO they are biased. Allowing people to troll these threads to get them closed rather than dealing with the actual behaviour caused by the couple of individuals. Then the people trolling the threads are able to get away with it. One such example is the one who has the most post in the thread.
