40 skip+ covenant sanctum intro quests+ZM campaign+bonus objectives while leveling is more than enough to get an alt to 57 (where 95% of the power is) in 3, if not 4 covenants.
You don’t really, just chapter 3 of the korthia campaign for the grapple points (not sure on dailies).

You do. In order to get the grapple points, you have to do the 9.1 chapter to rescue the Primus. You cannot do that chapter without doing the entire 9.0 campaign.

Yes, this feels like an issue. You can skip the first 3 chapters of the 9.1 campaign even on a brand new toon, but you have to go back and finish all chapters of the 9.0 campaign to unlock grapple points and the extra daily in Korthia, as well as the extra weekly world quest in Desmotaeron. And I don’t even think the flying mount is available to get to the Vault of Secrets (south island) until you proceed with the 9.1 campaign. As a result, all of the reliquary quest items, rares, and treasures are not really unlocked.

I will check the next time I am there on a new toon. I seem to remember there being a few NPCs missing from that ledge, as well as the mount, but could be wrong about the mount.

The 9.0 campaign will take you from 40 to 75 renown in about 2hs.
If you are about 226ilvl it will be fast.
You should not be grinding renown.
Renown is so easy they virtually removed it from the game. You get twice as much as you need for 80 doing the basic stuff you need to do to unlock other core features for a character. When I made this char a few weeks ago I did half the 9.1 campaign to unlock the south section of Korthia and did some Maw stuff to unlock Perdition Hold and Desmo flight path and I was 80 renown in 45 minutes. I was taken aback by just being handed it for free for doing nothing. I kinda wanted to do something for it lol

I don’t feel we need a skip. You get enough just with 40 renown and it takes no time to get to 80.
I just changed my druid from necro to venythr 2 weeks ago and I was surprised the conduits were almost all the same.
Sure why not, getting to 80 is pretty trivial though. Just buy the 40, then do Zereth Mortis quest you should be done.
I’d rather they let us change talents, soulbinds and conduits out of combat (at least in raid zones)
Optimising for bosses AE/ST and soulbinds is going to happen anyways. The tomes are worthless too if you need to change conduits.
All the current way does is waste time
It’s nice to have things to do though. 
You can get Renown from Callings, Replenish the Reservoir repeat quest, world bosses, dungeons, Korthia (Shaping Fate) and LFR.
I’m pretty sure it’s only 44 renown that’s required, but I’ll double check later
Getting a fresh level 50 in threads of fate and getting them to 60 them doing the 3 campaign quest gets you 80 renown
In a day. They added renown to almost every single covenant campaign quest. If you never did that covenant’s campaign you will be 80 by the time you are done.
