Lets imagine the most extreme version of what OP wants to illustrate further why this is a bad idea. Imagine WoW as a whole with complete anonymity for a moment. Sounds great on the occasions where you join a group via LFG, everything goes wrong, and you hope to never see those people again. Except, in this hypothetical completely anonymous world where you will never see these people again now the same people who might have held back comments if you had their actual character name (which still doesn’t identify who a person is, just what they chose to be called) are now going to for sure let loose and tell you exactly how bad of a job they think you did, no matter how hard you tried.
Then there’s the other side of it. You just had a great experience with 4 random people whom you will never see again and not recognize if you do because total anonymity exists in this hypothetical. Anon guy X makes you a 5-star craft and you’d like to use their services for recrafting? Too bad, you’ll never know who made that for you thanks to the tag on the item.
Social issues aside, which others have been kind enough to point out, anonymity online rarely works out for the better. And honestly, while many of us on this game/forum know better than to troll people, act impolitely in social spaces, etc. there are a ton of more immature players who may not care. And there are just as many willing to take a brief vacation for being rude on these forums. Add anonymity and that number will most likely grow.
That’s my long way of saying bring BattleTags to forums, make people own their words so they can’t just flip between anonymous characters whenever they type something that offends people or warrants action from moderation and hide from their previous actions.
The issue comes in is that there are plenty that want to try and have a logical conversation, but there are those that desire to shove their head in the sand and not assist.
That is nothing to even remotely close what I have said. I’ve said, if they are unsure to why the thread was made unlisted, they can ask in Customer Support to see if they can get a reason as to why, and to recieve any help possible that could see the thread being relisted again.
Knock yourself out. But Vrak wasn’t choosing sides. He pointed out the problem of you acting innocent in all of this. And also pointed out that making topics about thread moderation is against the forum Code of Conduct and the CS forums is not a way to circumvent that situation.
Vrak was well aware that over all the thread was a disaster. A problem caused by Both sides of the argument.
And proof of that, was the Moderators unlisting this thread and allowing us to keep bickering it out.
wide ignore topic is worse yet it is still there. Even more and worse spamfest, bickering, mocking others, gif spam, nonsense posts.
I already provided information in my first post, and about overwatch2 feature it is clearly writen in my first post : it was implemented in-game as streamers future.
