Can undead become human again?

The answer would be a solid no undead are the “damned” race but recent lore as it is you can apparently upgrade your body.

Is that you X’era?

In theory I suppose it’s possible. Though regaining your humanity after all the things that some of the forsaken have done might not be a good thing.

Still got to say no because op is asking if it would be possible to return to living something not even the red dragonflight could do in wrath; they basically purified the plague/corpses turned them into flower patches.
Now they could in theory transfer souls or w/e to a new body nathanos got upgrade but his family member had to be sacrificed so still dead.

Short answer yes with an if… long answer no, with a but.

Don’t think so. My understanding is they don’t have souls anymore. So when they die, they go into nothing. That is part of the deal with accepting undead, you come back but lose your soul. Now it could be possible if you make a undead living again, they could go insane. Completely out of control.

Long. Live. Undead. err, I mean long live the Undead, dead. Never mind.

Paladin Legion Campaign mount is a formerly undead charger you successfully brought back to life.

No real reason the same couldn’t theoretically be done to a human undead, except that Blizzard doesn’t want it to.

You question that while the whole universe in game has all sorts of things that ‘dont make sense’ cause magic?

Oh boy. Here’s someone who clearly never read book in his life. There’s a difference bad fantasy and good fantasy writing. See Metro 2033 books, the Witcher Books, Jim Butcher, and more. Hell - Even before Diablo 3 the writing in the books were pretty tight.

Hell, go read Berserk. Fantastic fantasy story. One of the best.

Do not insult the fantasy genre because you’re ignorant on good fantasy stories.

“Become human again?”

Dude, the undead are (mostly) human.

They just… well, died. And came back all funny.

But still human! Just, y’know, kinda in tatters and all.

(That “mostly” thing refers to a small percentage of the undead being Elves.)

So what makes the Forsaken different from the pally that got rezzed in the dungeon?

Yes i know “real resurrections” are rare in Lore but how does that magic differ from what the Valkyrie are doing? Couldnt they do that on a freshly dead body? Would it then be a Forsaken or just some rezzed guy because he hasnt started to rot yet?

Undeath changes them.

You can make them all-the-way dead, but if you then try to resurrect them - with any of the classes that can do that - what you get is still undead.

If it were a simple work around, someone would have figured it out by now. Tauren have been trying for something like twenty years.

Maybe if we had Mal’ganis’ lab notes, and like a really talented Naaru, and some very smart people? All working really hard on it? We can make cities that fly! SURELY someone can figure this out?

Since no one has, yet, I am guessing it is a hard problem to solve.

I am sure those wind chimes the Draenei are so fond of could probably restore undead to living, breathing human status.

They should be able to, evidently they had the power to turn Illidan into an angel. Well until he flame roasted the poor little zealot.

I see exactly zero reasons why this couldn’t make sense. As OP said, this is a game full of all sorts of weird magic, even the undead themselves are weird magic that doesn’t make sense in a normal world context.

It’s never made sense to me how people can say certain made up pretend magic things don’t make sense in the made up pretend magic world.

hmmm… I wonder…

Has any alliance healer ever tried to rez an undead? Perhaps they do turn human! This could wreak havoc on PvP. Perhaps it would just be hilarious:

Undead Mage casts Arcane Blast at Human Priest for 20K damage.

Human Priest casts Resurrection on Undead Mage transforming them to Human Mage.

Human Mage turns around and casts Arcane Blast at Blood Elf Priest for 20K damage.

Assuming they can. When they inevitably die do they become undead again? If that’s the case then what’s the point?

Tauren have been trying to find a cure. No luck yet.

I dont think any indead accepterld umdead. They were forcefully pulled back.

Fixed it for ya
