Quick question on the loot tables, can those items that show as “very rare” also appear in the vault, or are they only for kills in raid?
ive been told swords like ashkandur dropped from vault but it never hapened to me
Yes, they can appear in the Great Vault. They’re obviously not SUPER common, but they exist.
A close friend of mine, who plays Resto Druid, got a 489 Nymue staff in her Vault and it’s a Very Rare piece:
Another friend who got this in their vault on their Priest alt:
And in the last three weeks I’ve gotten a Normal Dreambinder, two Volcoross necks (neither of which I took), and an Augury (which I also didn’t take).
Ashkandur isn’t a very rare item. But yes, it could drop from your Vault last season.
I have Augury from the GV.
I would sweat blood waiting for my Askandur last tier… and once I got it, it was in my GV every week until we stopped raiding. lol
So yes, that stuff will show up.
You can also get them from the timewalking/M0 weekly quest boxes.
M0 event gave me 2 heroic icons back in S1.
Yes
At times more than the not rare items of the same slot that I actually WANT.
SEEN THE RARE FYRAKK Trinket AND THE FIRE PROCT NECKLACE twice yet.
Not a single time the Druid bosses neck or his trinket or Nyumes trinket…
4 weeks lost countless rolls on it and not gotten a good vault yet…
Bout to call it for this expansion… Getting steamed!
I’ve gotten the Eranog ring in S1 from the vault, so yes, they can appear.
I think it would be interesting if mounts and odd items could show up in the vault as alternate rewards for people that don’t need or want gear.
This would probably be a good way for Blizzard to utilize older expansions vaults. Allow us to do the dungeons or raids, fill out the old vaults and then potentially get unique rewards. This would have a similar affect to the Trading Post and encouraging people to run older raids multiple times, increasing play time and recycling older rewards.
I love that idea, a whole section for “time walking” or “legacy” slots that grant cool rewards from older places. I think it would be very popular.
They should do this for collectible otems in legacy raids and dungeons.
Yes i got the staff from Nymue from this weeks vault…and pips on a couple of toons
Good question.
Also curious if the chosen loot spec disallows certain pieces to show.
The orboreal necklet, for example, cannot be need rolled by a resto shaman when it drops, even though its BiS and listed in the resto shaman loot pool for the boss (your need toll will default to greed).
Wonder if choosing resto before opening the vault also removes the necklet from a possible selection.
My understanding is the great vault follows the same loot rules as when you can win items in a dungeon or raid.
So if you can’t loot a certain item in a raid as resto I would expect it cannot show up in your vault as resto either.
Which is annoying in this specific case, but I’d be pretty upset if I was getting tank/dps weapons/trinkets when I opened my vault as Mistweaver.
Yeah. I just shouldn’t have to switch my spec to a dps spec to try to get an item that isnt specific to dps.
Yes you can get the very rare items in your vault but the devs did make a change to it in the middle of season two.
They said that the rare drops would drop more frequently in the raid and less frequently in your vault.
