Why is it that PVE has no limit to the gear they can aquire but the two ways we can get gear are capped? I know this has probably been asked a ton but looking around at the Item level of some of the M+ers they are at their peak already and we still have to wait weeks not to mention how much quicker they get their 4 peice from the vault.
My only guess is because its competitive.
It allows people that can’t just sit and grind out gear still have a chance to be at a similar ilvl.
But I kind of wish they’d just reduce ilvl/stats in instanced content like they did in Legion and make everyone the same, and let us gear fully for world.
But that’s pipe dreams.
Liquid is sitting at about 625 ilvl as I write this, at 7/8 #1 RWF. Full conquest gear is 639 ilvl. PVE is capped, just in diff ways.
Half of the liquid squad can’t even queue for blitz. We are much closer to our cap than they are.
PVP Ilvl and PVE Ilvl are irrelevant to each other.
Pvp gear is guaranteed as you buy it via tokens.
Pve is gated via luck with random drops.
For example in Cataclysm we had an enhance shaman who never saw weapons in Firelands. He used pvp weapons that he bought via tokens lol.
PvE gear has gating too.
You can only kill a boss so many times a day or week for random chances at loot.
Crests have seasonal caps that increase weekly.
Catalyst charges every 2 weeks.
Vault loot is only once a week.
