Can someone explain Alchemy to me?

regular crafting professions are generally useless at this point in the game and have been for a while now. But professions like Alchemy and Enchanting will and have always been relevant. There are a lot of useful flasks and battle potions that all classes and roles can benefit from, as well as a variety of enchants that all classes can also benefit from. Jewelcrafting is another useful one, though not nearly as profitable as enchanting or alchemy. When it comes to stats and such for pushing or progression content, every little bit helps.

Alchemy is what I prettymuch always take anymore with herbalism, especially if Im wanting healing or mana potions for a spec.
Even in group content its good to be able to make your own healing potiions if you dont have a healing spec so you can take some heat off the healers. I’ll pop one if Im taking damage so they can focus on the tank(s) as much as Im able.
then mana potions If Im playing a mana killer spec like arcane.

Knowing alchemy has many advantages. You can make your own healing potions and battle potions or you can sell them as income. The herbs you painstakingly harvest can be used in potions or sold. It is nice having the ability to make Lightfoot Potion, Demetiri’s Draught , Unveiling Eye and Potion of Concealment…I use them On my BM Hunter, esp. in BG’s.

And here folks we have a new millionaire in the making , good choice :+1:

Mix a little bit of this with a little bit of that, give it to a pretty thing to see what happ- … Blinks Oh dear. That wasn’t supposed to happen …

i just finished leveling a priest to 120 (dinged earlier today) and the only time it’s really “bad” is in WoD because of how much health the mobs have. but you can switch to disc for that level range and /lol at mobs until you get out of it. or do bgs til you get out of that point. it’s a lot of fun leveling a priest.

and op, enchanting is a money pit. you have to spend so much gold to level it. i actually had to drop almost all of my alts professions (like 8 of them) and switch them so they could de and sometimes i still run out of mats. i love it. and you save way more money than you’d think… but you need to level another character along with it to make money because you won’t get to vendor any drops and all of your money goes to leveling your enchanting.

Flasks for end game, utility pots, the alchemist stone can be a decent trinket
Consistent way to make gold, selling herbs and alchemy items

Alchemy items are always useful.

Unlike armor, weapons, gems and enchants, the are in constant demand.
