Can people answer me honestly? why should i pick a priest over a holy paladin…? ever?

Stam buff, Divine Hymn, Salvation, AoE healing not frontal cone although I do have that with star, Hymn of hope, several “Oh sh!t” buttons and no holy power mechanic crap.

Shadow is shaping up to be S tier comming in shadowlands and RET isnt looking to good…

just saysin

Everyone saying “playstyle” or “fun”: I think OP is talking about upper tier raiding. If one class is significantly better than another, then people will choose that better class when putting together raids/M+ groups.

I play a Priest because it was the first character I played. I don’t play a Paladin because I’ve watched our Paladin healers and whatever it says on paper, the Priest works better when things are actually happening. I could just be very used to how the Priest works though.

I find pally fids more with my stile to play. I dont like just sending heals, i liek to be active in combat.

That reason too, makes me choose dici over holy oriest aswell

I do not know what you are talking about, I have both Priests and Paladins. Holy Paladins are a bit obtuse for overall healing.

It is true that a Holy Paladin is more fun to level because it ‘feels’ more like a DPS class, but Smite/Holy Fire/Chastise does damage albeit boring. Raid healing I hardly see Holy Paladins unless they need a dedicated Tank Healer. I don’t use my Holy Paladin at all. All of your points are very subjective.

Holy Priests are by far the easiest Healing class to play because it is very direct in how they heal, and then I go shaman. I cannot comment on Resto Druids, but they are a wow favorite, and I have a Monk I desperately try to heal with that I am not very good with.

Shaman is the only healing class I’ve never played. Priest is my favorite to heal on followed by druid, pally is next in line with the monk being last. The reason I love my priest so much is I have 2 healing specs to choose from. I favor Disc for 5man stuff and Holy for raids. I like being the jack of all trades with a tool for any situation I might find myself in. With the unpruning in SL I’m getting even more tools.

Remember some people might take offense to calling them dresses. “It’s not a dress, it’s a robe! It’s not a skirt, it’s a kilt!”

Dress, gown, robe it’s all the same all that matters is how well you wear it!

I love holy priest healing, but I am getting tired of world quests etc being a struggle. Hard to go back after sampling the ease of ret. I think I am runing out of energy for many alts (I have v many alts) and could prolly just have a pally one-stop shop for all my healing, tanking and questing needs.

So true but I am secure enough in my masculingnomity to claim the word dress.

(giggle)

You have invented a new word

You would be correct. It’s fun. Well, it’s fun here. It’s not so fun in the real world when people do it in a work environment.

Ranged heals and damage over melee healer.

Better raid cds, better aoe heals.

Disc is pretty fun, played and geared properly, they’re monsters.

Also, mass dispell.

/thread right there.

Having fun is the only reason to play any class. Otherwise, you’re not playing a game, you’re playing a spreadsheet.

for the class fantasy

I am gonna assume you mean disc…

To which I would say; in raids disc is a god and pretty much always will be.

I find it more challenging and fun to play a healing class that doesn’t do as great as another. If I can keep a dungeon group, or raid alive on a crappy healing class, it makes me feel like I am making that crappy healing class better.
