I have an active subscription. I would like to purchase another 12 months in advance.
Is this possible?
I ask because I did try, the transaction happened, the Blizzard store thanked me, the money was taken from me (the first time). Then it was refunded. Subsequent attempts got through to the Blizzard store thanking me, but no money was taken.
My bank card is a visa/debit card. My bank’s fraud department verified that no blocks are on my account. The card works with other online purchases.
My wife also has the same issue with her card from the same bank. She also verified that she had no blocks.
We were honestly just wanting to add another 12 months now while we had the money.
I’m now wondering if it would work at all with the automatic renewal.

You can’t have two subscriptions active at the same time. The automatic renewal is indeed what would be stopping it. You would have to cancel the recurring sub if you want to pay right now, however that will make the account ineligible for any of the 12 month sub rewards as the the sub has to be recurring to get the rewards.

If you really wanted to dog-ear that money for the purposes of a sub you can either move it to a savings account just for that (most banks I believe let you divide or open up accounts for different purposes) or just withdraw the cash and set it aside until you pay for the new sub.

Subscriptions won’t bill until your game time runs out. The only exception to that is sometimes when there are rewards that go out with the sub it will bill you immediately when you setup the sub and it warns you it’s going to. The only way to bill it before that is to buy blocks of game time.

The odd thing, and what led me to post here was that she opened a ticket about a week ago. The answer was a little different of what you all are telling me.
Our actual subscriptions for the original 12 months prior is done, but we still had 30 days time from buying the expansion and I had 30 days from a token that was bought prior to the original 12 month subscription. The response she got said that we could renew once our original 12 months was expired, which it has according to what date she was told. But it appears you must wait until all time has expired.
We will wait for our extra time to expire. Its not a big deal. We simply would have paid now. I can still pay in two months. Hopefully it works after all remaining time runs out.
