the way they’re doing it now, you can play both games for the same 15 dollars. on ‘Retail’ you can go as far as Legion, and Classic you can play until eternity or servers go down (whichever happens first)

A lot of people are against it but they are too blind to see how it works. with the $15 sub, you are paying to play retail wow, but with that sub, you also get access to play classic wow. And not to mention: you are paying $15 for like 400+ hours of content (hours in the month - sleeping time and what-not) where most games these days: your paying $30-60 for like 20 hours worth of content.
while that’s true, I’m talking about unforeseen deaths and such. Life is not eternal, unfortunately.

I feel that is a down side for blizzard, they could having people pay 15 a month for classic because a lot of people want it, and they could be paying people hat don’t want classic 15 a month because it’s obvious that their are people who HATE classic. It’s almost split 50/50 of people that want it and people that are either meh or just don’t want it. ( that includes my dad that just doesn’t want classic)
They can’t. They changed how they were doing the retail version years ago. YEARS ago, if you wanted play an old expansion’s content, even if its 2 expansions ago, you had to buy the expansion. But they changed it so vanilla wow to the second to last expansion was part of the main game so no one had to keep buying expansion over expansion. So it would make no sense for someone pay for vanilla in retail and also pay for vanilla in classic.
in the end, Blizzard makes the money, players stick to their preferred game, “everybody” wins. Also, the sub fee pays for Diablo, Hearthstone and whatever else they choose it to.
Btw, how are people like void elves and that kind of stuff. And now that makes sense.
Also: not to mention: to make both games the same sub is a genius idea because when people don’t feel like playing classic at the moment: they can try out retail which would later cause them to buy store mounts, insta level 110 character boosts, etc. Giving Blizzard money with an old game’s fan base.
Void elves, while an admittedly pretty race for the Alliance to gain, was poorly received for their blue hue skintone. It sparked a mega-thread of hate. If you can look past that basic thing, and a few other minor details, it’s got access to a ‘blink’ style racial spell. Minor other perks are minor. Starts at lv 20.
The sub races are so bad. They have almost no specialty that warrants playing them over the base races LUL
