I read what you wrote, you’re hung up on “but THIS CALLING SPECIFICALLY isn’t asking for anima”. Who cares? The covenant as a whole is starving for anima, if they find out Jimmy the Spider is handing it out to people for grabbing shinies, they’d probably shut off Jimmy’s access to the reservoir.
I care a lot about the lore and I’m very consistent on that.
They’re desperate for anima, yet they want 25k for an armor recolor? Yeah, that makes sense. Just like how your average homeless person would turn down any help if it’s less than 1 million dollars.
Which is entirely consistent, because in every transaction with them, we give THEM anima, they don’t give US anima. Because they need every drop just to keep the sanctum going.
Good Lord a simple fix for that would be “Maw Walker, you have been generous in restoring peace to our lands and attending to our daily urgency. Here is some anima we wish to share in order to champion our cause”.
They’re not giving anima though, I’m giving it. It’s like being hungry, but not accepting any food unless its an entire grocery store worth. Your example is anti-logic.
This is distorting the reality, as Denathrius’ defeat isn’t technically “canon” until 9.1 when the story progresses. So technically the castle’s stores haven’t been freed, even tho we clear it every week.
