Can I delete my DK to make another free one

Hello,

I’ve been playing on Skyfury and leveled a mage to 55. Right after that I created my Death Knight, because on fresh realms you need to have a character level 55. So i made my DK and then got tired of the 3 hours queues, so I want to move to another realm. My question is: If i delete my DK on Skyfury, that I have played a bit and it is level 57, can I create a DK on another realm without having a level 55 character on that realm ?

Because if I try to create one right now, it says that I need a level 55 on ANY realm.

No you can not. The very first Deathknight you create uses that “free without restrictions creation” no matter if it was used on a realm without any char or on one with a 55+.

You can have multiple dks (1 per realm) but the first use acts as first use.

For example if you use the free one on a realm where no char exists and delete that one then you are unable to make another one on the realm you deleted the “free” one on as the without restriction thing is used.

So in short: You wont be able to create a DK on a realm without a lvl 55 already existing on there even if you delete yours on Skyfury.

not true at all, i’ve deleted on faerlina (no 55 char on the realm) and re created because I wanted horde, accidently created allie, and was allowed to create again.

if he re creates on a non fresh server, it can still create if he doesn’t have a 55 on them, plenty of people have did just that due to qs lol.

BTW @OP Skyfury has the lowest qs…not sure where you plan to go every server has high qs lol

Yes you can.

Aha? I deleted my free on use DK and tried to make a new one and it said I need a lvl 55 to create a DK. So are you just talking nonsense to disagree for the sake of doing so?

It’s not nonsense. I’ve done it twice. just can’t be on a new server.

I made a DK on an old server without having an existing char there, deleted that DK and tried making it again due to wanting another race for it and it did not allow it due to using the free use for it. I had to have a lvl 55 on that exact realm it said.

then you got screwed. Better luck next time

I did not get “screwed” I am telling what happened based on experience with the topic OP made while others claim its not the case.

Either they changed it with the promotion mount as I done it before that or they are simply lying, or at the very least it being faction oriented and not counting horde+alliance as one but alli+alli / horde+horde.

I would write a GM about that.

Well no as it doesnt matter. It just happens to matter for OP’s question as that was my experience ofcourse I give that as an answer. If others didnt have that happening then it might have been changed since the promotion as I done it before that.

Thank you all, I just tried it and it worked fine.

Yeah, I got screwed with this too. I made my first DK on my main realm.

This is false. I deleted my DK on Mankrik so I could make one without restrictions on Sulfuras where my highest level is only a 49. That DK has been created and then I made a new DK on Mankrik where my 70s are. IDK why it didn’t work for you, but it absolutely worked for me.

I believe you are only required to have a level 55 character on any server to create unlimited DKs, with fresh servers being the exception where it needs to actually be on that server.

Untrue. I was able to reroll my DK by deleting him.

I confirm this is incorrect. Delete all of the other DKs on your account, and then you can recreate you first DK without restrictions on the server you want.

As per Blizzard website (link above)

"Error: “You no longer meet the requirements to restore that character. You must have an active character of at least level 55 on this realm to restore them” can occur when attempting to restore your first restriction-free Death Knight when having an active Death Knight on a separate realm or when attempting to restore any Death Knight on a realm where you don’t have a level 55 or higher character.

:x:** If trying to restore your first restriction-free Death Knight, when you have an active Death Knight on another realm, you will need to delete the active Death Knight first.

  • You must have a level 55 or higher character on the realm you are attempting to restore a deleted Death Knight on.

Error: “There was a problem restoring your deleted character. Please try again later.” can occur when you already have a Death Knight active on the realm you are attempting to restore a deleted Death Knight on.

  • You can only have one active Death Knight per realm. You will need to delete your existing Death Knight before you can restore the deleted one.
