You mean like Oondasta? Thanks to cross realm that one boss shut down three servers in one fight forget about wiping .
Thatâs an instance. I mean, with phasing one could create pseudo-instances in the world, but that is sort of breaking the definition of âworldâ content right from the start.
You could also have world events which, at sufficient speed of mobs going down, bigger and bigger mobs spawn until you get some big payoff - such as the broken shore invasions. But wow player culture/expectations being what they are, you wouldnât very often get actual emergent gameplay - youâd get people forming raid groups to slam as efficiently as possible like a remote-in-a-corner world boss with extra steps.
Yea, but how does one make challenging world content not instanced when you can make a 40 man raid out in the open
Yes It Was a Good idea
And donât forget to make it fun
Donât let this content be a mandatory content
Make it instanced like Torghast.
The post i responded to was saying my bringing up horrific visions didnt work as an example because it was instanced. Thus my rebuttal
IMHO Torghast was a fun activity with really no reason to do it. At least not unless you felt like you HAD to do it, but for those people they seemed to hate it.
Itâs like they designed content for one crowd and tried really hard to give everyone else other than them reasons to play it.
I didnât mind Torghast. It was fun rescuing Bain and Jaina. That being said, enough was enough.
Small disclaimer: when I think about world content, Iâm thinking about it through the eyes of a solo player ⌠the moment 3, 5 or 40 players become the path forward, I no longer mentally file it under âworld contentâ, I file it under âgroup contentâ.
( Iâm not sure if the OP shares that point of view or not )
Of course they could. Itâs just that they know that world content players donât want a challenge.
Sad but true.
What people say when they want BIS from world content is they they want BIS⌠they just want BIS.
People could ask for more content but instead theyâre asking for gear.
Mechagon was good world content, they need stuff like that.
Also battle for nazjatar was some of the best times ive had in wow PvP even thought it was just a meaningless fight. Please bring something like that back
They donât know how. They tried but it always needed a group ~ and there was a push back. I read that DF will have such areas. But I doubt itâll ever give equivalent reward as m+ or raiding.
They are doing crafting that lets you do that, and the primalist invasions give you a shot at it. Not sure what else.
Of course they can. They used to have pretty tough elites to fight in Mists of Pandaria out in the world with a few mechanics you died to if you didnât pay attention and learn. They could expand on that and create different tiers of elites that either can be spawned somehow or even just rarely spawn.
Theyâd have to do something to indicate itâs and ultra hard enemy tho, perhaps a glowing red dragon icon. It could be done but the question is do they want to? We could have had loot drops for a slot or two in Torghast but they didnât do that.
A lot of times from what I remember in the past is that the argument is people would feel they have to do it. What if that rare drops a bis for a particular spec or their damage is trash? Iâm sure there are other issues as well.
Iâd like to see it though for sure. If the world felt even more alive because of living world guild wars 2 type events that led up to an ultra hard enemy thatâd be cool. It could be on par with a heroic boss but doable with a pug that is determined enough.
can you imagine the forum tears if they did?
it would be delicious.
remember the outrage and screeches about the âsuggested item levelâ for higher floors of torghast? even though you could do it at a much lower item level if you werenât garbage at the game?
I remember.
What theyâre really asking is âcan blizzard just mail me mythic raiding level gear when I login because I donât want to put in any effort for progression?â
In all seriousness, if itâs high end difficult content, it will end up that only a small fraction of players will be able to achieve it. This doesnât matter if itâs world content or any other activity. Youâll just end up with the same complainers on the forums asking for said content to be nerfed.
A lot of vague talking about abstract strawman players going on here.
Anyone you want to talk to directly?
Yes, of course they can. Some players just do not want to admit that raiding is just not popular. Mythic + high key pushing isnât either.
