Had a boomkin doing this the other day. He was playing like a glad, and on the off chance you managed to actually catch him off guard he’d just glitch all over the place.
As soon as he’d get away from you and have distance the glitching would stop. I check pvpd him and he had never been much over 1800 in his years of playing and all the sudden had like a 2150 MMR playing almost perfectly.
Reported for botting/piloting and cheating.

it was a problem in legion / bfa also, where there is a desync between the two players and you could be hit through pillars, people will not be in range of your spells while they’re skipping around on top of you. It happens almost every game now

I think this is much more likely a server lag thing than anything else XD

Called a frost dk out on this while dueling him in Dorn, he instantly went back to normal ping style play. Prior to that he’d teleport all over whenever I got close. I told him mid duel to stop lag scripting or I’d report him, he said OK and turned it off.
I don’t believe that suddenly out of nowhere the blizzard servers are just suddenly dial up quality for connectivity. Just no lol.

Yeah, there are a bunch of people messing with latency related nonsense.
Also, sometimes when I am fighting a player they start rapidly disappearing and reappearing in front of me causing my target to drop over and over.
I have to keep slamming tab to stay on them. I happens pretty often.
I thought it might be addon related, but I disabled them all and it still happens.
It’s always certain players in that game and doesn’t happen with anyone else.
I saw an evoker glitch out with a flag in twin peaks. He flew off the map where nobody could get to, then he flew up and landed on top of the alliance castle and sat there for the rest of the game. 10+ players reported them right then, and I saw dude in another BG a few days later.
Exploitable game.
Not doing anything to fix it.
Not doing anything about the people exploiting it.
Good recipe for ruining your game.

My buddy who I used to play with every season finally quit this xpac because of this.
We noticed it only seemed to happen at crucial moments in the match and it happened often. We would both see it and the player seemed to stop taking as much damage when it would happen.
Maybe I’m crazy but this seems like a real thing that’s happening to a lot of people.

This wasn’t standard lag. This was scripted lag. He was absolutely buying a pilot. He 6-0d the lobby at over 2100 and had never been higher than about 1830 before.
He only lagged when the melee would catch him, he’d just ping off in a different direction and suddenly be held up behind a pillar hotted up in bear form.
Definitely wasn’t just regular lag.

imagine havin 400 ping because you got pulled into an oce lobby and everybody threatening to report 
I’ve played from oce since 2010 essentially, I’m well aware what standard lag looks like. I’m usually sitting at about 200ms in every lobby I play and have never once been accused of lag manipulation.
Most people who play regularly are familiar with standard oce lag by now, this wasn’t that.

I feared a guy and he rubber banded around the arena for like 20 seconds yesterday but was otherwise fine

it happens almost every single game
I noticed people tend to do this as soon as I charge them. Like they will be completely fine and then just start having a spastic fit.
It has the same vibe as turning over a log to reveal a worm and they just start freaking out the moment you touch them.

I was gonna say I saw this happen with a ret paladin yesterday and happened with an hpal on my team a few times. I’m confident no one was cheating or exploiting and from their PoVs they weren’t lagging at all, but there characters were porting around. Probably just a weird server thing.
Yeah I don’t think its people exploiting but its really jarring and makes it impossible to play against when they skip around like this with cds rolling. trying to mash disarm for example and it keeps saying out of range
