Someone explain Assassination Rogue to me like I'm a two year old

Seriously, I fail at Rogue so much. I don’t play Feral for a reason either. All of this finishing move combo point stuff, along with energy usage and cooldowns is just making me crazy trying to figure it out. Is it possible for someone to explain to me as if I were a two year old the basic rotation and priority of Assassination Rogue? I'm really bad at being a Rogue

I have a Rogue that I started in 2007 that’s never been max or even current expansion level. I finally got ambitious and levelled it to Shadowlands levels, but I still don’t have a clue how to play one properly. Mostly it involves my thumb crazily stabbing at whatever button is off cooldown until the mob dies. I’m having fun but don’t want to subject groups to my random thumb strikes combat strategies.
