Can a programmer explain how they wouldn't know how far they were from being ready?

That isn’t how that works. The folks performing maintenance have a basic idea how long it should take, that is the original estimate. If it needs to be extended, it is extended by the amount of time that they estimate it should take to resolve the unexpected issue and bring realms back up.

Over on the CS Forum, they stated that the Server Team hasnt been too communicative about how long its going to take, so, in lieu of a real estimate, they advance it ahead every hour for an hour.

Those of us who joking said that were legit right.
