Panda demon hunters when?
I’m not against more dh races, but I swear I’ve seen less threads when druids were limited to two races.
DH having a bunch of oddball/unique bits (like double-jump, gliding, etc) is what drives it, I’d wager. Shapeshifting is cool but ultimately it just means temporarily changing classes, which is less “shiny”.
Why would other races become demon hunters when the demons have already been defeated?
Druids sucked in classic and vanilla… you Also weren’t forced to be an elf
Meme or no, this would actually be my second choice. The contrast with the class’s innate edgelordiness would be extremely welcome.
For three reasons. The game in general was simply more restrictive when that limit was in place, and with only 4-5 races per faction in the game, 1 each wasn’t as restrictive by comparison. Beyond that, the two races in question were night elves and tauren - two very distinctly different races.
DHs exist as 1 option per faction at a point where each faction has 10 race options, and the most striking visual difference between the two possible races is that one is pink and the other is violet.
I offered a possible reason up above:
Fact of the matter is, they’re going to have to find a way to move the DH and Illidari story forward now that the Legion is gone. They have to have a new reason to exist. Being a Legion Recovery Group seems as good as any.
Demon hunters shouldn’t be unlocked unless there’s a valid lore reason for more demon hunters to be made. AKA – the Legion comes back or something. DK’s were given a valid lore reason for having more made of them. Demon hunters should too.
Orcs and Dranei would make the most sense to me lore wise
Unless you were alliance, and how many people like tauren?
Tauren was more popular than Troll in vanilla but in classic it became the least popular race
I think most people are significantly under estimating the statement Blizzard made during the preview trailer of 9.2 that said “this is the final chapter of one book and story of warcraft”. That’s a very impactful statement. It’s like saying, the story we have been telling since Vanilla is coming to a close.
Actually, two different people at Blizzard have now used that language in interviews.
But what does that mean? A flash forward a hundred years to a completely new story line and new heroes and characters? Something else? Not sure…but…
Everyone is assuming and expecting 10.0 will just be another continuation of the same old same old but… I’m expecting something really unexpected (note: that does not mean great or bad because I don’t know yet) but…unexpected still.
There is literally a murloc demon hunter in game so I am sure they can justify it for any playable race at this point.
I don’t even care about this part anymore. Just give it. ![]()
DH Goblins and Monk Goblins please!
I think race choice in Classic had more to do with the almighty meta than it did any kind of preference, particularly hordeside. In terms of vanilla racials the extra stam and war stomp tauren get are ok, but not exceptional compared to orcs and trolls.
Regardless of how far I think this game has decended into farce, having Vulpera Fruitbats and Pandabats would be going way too far.
With how much of a mess the lore has turned into I think the best possible thing that could be done is a full-on universe reboot/alternative timeline sort of thing. In terms of story the writers are a bit painted into a corner right now.
This right here.
This is the whole reason why I don’t play my Demon Hunter.
I hate the fact that they gave this class exclusively to Night Elves and Blood Elves.
They should of added Orcs and Draenei to the mix because they’re the only ones that would make sense and would fit in lore.
The Nightborne and Void Elves make absolutely no sense lore wise and just because they’re Elves is stupid, smh.
If anything Orcs and Draenei should be first on the list as playable races for Demon Hunter.
Edit:: I would pay double for a race change to Orc or Draenei with my Demon Hunter and it would more then likely become my main in a heart beat.
