Camelot Wishes

Please feel free to share your top wish or two that you consider dire for the next classic project.

My Classic+ Camelot top 3 wishlist

  1. Faction balance on PvP servers. This was introduced in Season of Discovery and made the war feel alive. Must have.
  2. Delete world buffs entirely from the game. PvE should be balanced around raid buffs and consumables only. Getting ganked by world buffers is just lame too.
  3. Quality of life improvements: one example being able to queue for a battleground without needing to be in a major city talking to the battle master. Anything that keeps you immersed and respects your time in the world I consider a QoL improvement.

What say you?

Some would say that is immersion on a pvp server. Bring friends. Battle back.

Nobody on the forums knows what this means. To many it means making everything accessible with things like catch-up mechanics disguised as QoL, to others it means making time investment into doing something worth it and not invalidating that time by giving it out for basically free in 2 months after release.

I’m partial to the latter personally. I don’t want portals/teleports everywhere because having to walk/ride everywhere “doesn’t respect player time.” QoL kills the world and turns the game into a bunch of people sitting in their basements waiting for queue in game and in IRL.

The problem with QoL stuff is it keeps you from interacting with your fellow players. Waiting for a ship/zeppelin or BG queue is time where you can interact with players, making friends. “Boy are these queues long… is it hot enough for ya…”

Faction balance is a great idea, sometimes people need to be nudged out of their comfort zone. I liked games that told you faction balance as you were making a toon so i could go to the weaker side.

I’ve commented a laundry list on a similar thread, but here I’d just like one thing: I want the world to be darker when it’s nighttime. The sky gets dark but the ground doesn’t. The lighting doesn’t change.

  1. Faction balance has been done on Anniv. “players gravitate to the faction that has an advantage in PvP then future players are locked from making characters of that faction on that server and drama begins.”
  2. Think WB’s are fine honestly as they are insanely good for people leveling and questing but liked how SoM did it in which they did not work in raid. For PvP gankers just have to find a priest or a shaman and they will be eager to help out in dispelling their buffs.
  3. This I actually disagree with. The main character in classic is the world which requires characters to interact with and travel vast distances in it to get what they need. I know the original intent was if you wanted to do a battleground you needed to travel all the way to the bg portal in the real world “WSG portal in Ashenvale for ally and Barrens/Ashenvale border for horde.” for example. Having battle masters in capital cities was the compromise on this.

For what I’d want would be tier sets for all class specs.

Dairytank nails it on the head again. I think you’re exactly right.

yes, “respect your time” and “quality of life” are examples of magic meme phrases that people use to bolster their pro retail feature arguments :expressionless_face: they do not have a precise meaning. they mean many different things to many different people. there are other magic meme phrases out there. see if you can find them all :expressionless_face: .

you’re right :expressionless_face: this is a big deal. would be really cool to have actual darkness.

Some would say, sure. But what about you? I’m all for a faction world brawl over a quest or resource. But world buffs should not be in the next classic project imo

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not, but it would enhance my enjoyment of the game for sure. I don’t know how hard it is to implement something so large scale, but if it wouldn’t take one person more than an afternoon I’d say that’s time very well spent.

I agree. I don’t want people waiting in major cities, they should be out in the world. I do think however we could easily replace LFG trade spam with a dungeon/party group queue.

It won’t teleport you to the instance, it would just form the party and everyone would still travel to the entrance.

Group finder tool is the only replacement. I really don’t want to queue for anything but instanced pvp.

we already have that in era :expressionless_face: it will for sure be in classic+

Okay, but I did provide a specific example of QoL in my 3rd point.

Why should I get teleported all the way back to Org after sitting in a 6 minute flight and farming 2 Rugged Leather as the queue pops.

QoL to me is getting back to the world faster and not being punished by an ancient code mechanic.

because you chose to do a battleground? :expressionless_face:

Thought the part about

should tell you how I feel. Though Dairytank made a great point which I can support.

WBs like Songflower for example absolutely should be contested. Players trying to “steal” a blessing of the Warchief meant for the Horde should face the lok’tar. WB purge has been a thing since 2005. They are a contested resource on a pvp server. It should remain unchanged save the disabling their use in raids which might up the challenge there a bit – as players have also requested.

I wholeheartedly agree with #1and #3. I hate wasting time sitting in the city waiting for q to pop.

I would also add more xp to the BG’s.

If that happens I’m gonna have to insist that Behsten and Slahtz be around to do their thing.

World Buffs are fun to use in the world, but them dropping whenever one enters instanced content (dungeons/raids/BGs) would be good. Chronoboon would then be used to save them for world content (if they decide to place more emphasis on such).
