There is a new addon that seeks to resuscitate World PvP and RP-PvP, as it has been neglected by blizzard for so long that players have begun to take matters into their own hands:
Introducing Overlord!
Overlord is an addon specifically designed for World PvP and RP-PvP; it transforms the War Mode experience by adding objectives to be captured in old-world zones!
Currently supporting BFA-era Arathi Highlands and Gilneas, Overlord features:
6 to 10 neutral capture points per zone
2 Fortresses per zone, 1 for Alliance and 1 for Horde
3 Mines, used to gather resources to modify capture time in favor of your faction or against your enemy
A sleek interface that displays objectives, resources, and capture status, as well as Server Shard ID info to help you determine whether you and other combatants are on the same phase
A leaderboard to track captures, kills, and faction victories
Weekly campaigns with a tug-of-war style progress percentage bar, that reset every Wednesday morning!
With regular updates, growing and responsive in-game and discord communities, and a development roadmap for summer 2026 that includes Loch Modan and the Barrens as the next planned warfronts, Overlord is making big moves to become the addon that brings PvP back to the world!
This addon is PERFECT for RP-PvP guilds and communities, adding an option for them to create much more compelling and immersive campaigns by taking part in real-time captures and fortress sieges! Download Overlord on CurseForge today and get back in the fight!
It’s amazing, I’ve been capping nodes and got some skirmishes from it. When you contest an area or start gaining gold from a mine, IT ALERTS EVERYONE with the addon
Ohansi pitifully holds up the scorched and frayed end of one of his golden braids. There is almost nothing that can halt the flood of outrage. So he just crosses his arms and pouts. How dare they.
He attempts to retain one tiny slice of dignity by straightening his raiment and preparing for the next fight. Loch Modan is a far cry from the jungles of Zandalar but even here the light of Te’atli threatens to shine, and burn. The thought finally makes him smile.
If anyone can track down the person saving my name on Moon Guard and convince them to stop I will happily add a healer to the Horde side on Moon Guard.
I’za waits, kneeling. Rain streams off the eaves in noisy rivulets. Gilneas is cold, gloomy, and wet but the blind priestess waits without complaint. Hir’eek has sent her down stranger paths than this.
She lost track of the hours spent waiting long ago, but the sound of running footsteps snaps her back to reality. With a smile on her lips she calmly places her mask back on, covering her face.
The only thing any onlookers might notice is an unusually large bat taking flight and flapping it’s wings towards the sound of battle.
Saturday is one of the busier days actually, as it is obviously a weekend day, but there are a few variables as to why you may not be seeing other players in a Warfront:
One of the largest factors is sharding, which has been plaguing World PvP overall since the introduction of War Mode.
To combat this, Overlord has a Shard ID Number indicator in the top left corner of the addon’s interface that shows you what shard you’re on and what shard(s) other players are on, in addition to an activity tracker under the Featured Warfront pane to see which fronts have been active over the past five minutes.
Another factor is the current popularity of the daily Guild Keep objectives, which are available for capture and defense from 9:00pm EST to 10:00pm EST.
The developer is aware of the shift in participation towards Guild Keeps and is working on implementations to bring Warfronts up to their level.
We are also noticing a slight downturn in participation as Summer is in full swing and we’re in-between major content patches, so people are naturally spending less time on WoW and more time elsewhere, but activity is still pretty high despite this.
