Buying Gold from Third Parties is Forbidden

wanna compete with rmt gold??
lower the price to the token to 10$ and keep the gold at 200-250k but since you ppl are to greedy to do that this wont ever happen

I’ve always used WoW Tokens to get my gold, Blizzard-approved way. But with current prices, it almost feels like we’re being punished for playing fair. Between the subscription cost and the absurd token value, farming gold isn’t even an option unless you’ve got 40 hours a week to spare… which most of us don’t. Funny how playing legit became the expensive route.

I still say if they ban the customers doing the shady dealings harder thier market will die off.

maybe they could umm allow rmt and blizz get a cut, i know really bad suggestion (and really bad possible outcomes)
but if i was to buy a run with gold, instead of spending time getting tokens; rmt can cut straight to it

I don’t want official pay to win in WOW.

Blizz bans neither buyers nor sellers. Once in a while, they ban a few hundred, so people can pretend rules exist.

Can we make the token not suck? The token in its current state is just a way to feed free subs to people who have been GDKPing (not against, dont come at me) for 4 expansions. The amount the token goes for right now just isn’t worth it.

The current rate (10,750 for 20$ at time of posting) is a pittance compared to the sheer amounts of gold that are floating around. The current third party rate is more than 2.5x the current token rate (27k for ~20$).

I’m not advocating for buying illicit gold, but like… man. If the token tripled over night illicit gold would disappear.

maintain a fair gaming environment.

Unless the player are from a region where they can’t buy wow token.

Will Blizzard sell WoW Token in the Brazillian native coin? Because we cant buy it in Brazil Real. So, what options has to the ones who live here?

Yes, but they never shied away from that though. In any case, token is better for the overall economy anyway because the gold just trades hand, it’s not just mass produced by bots.

Oh, hey Kaivax, I used to post and reply a lot on the old forums, but I grew older with less time to do so. That said, when your blue post hit the web, I came to comment: I’d like to ask when and how will we be able to buy gold tokens here in Brazil.

Don’t get me wrong, but if this is (and I know it is) the only safe way to buy gold, then this should be available everywhere.

Could you please pass this message along to the people responsible for gold tokens? I know we have a somewhat devaluated money and all the issue was that people would VPN to Brazil in order to buy tokens at a lower price.

But you see, if tokens are the only way to buy gold, let us Brazilians buy it in dollars, if so. Gold is a luxury item and can be sold as luxury if needed. Can we at least even the game for everyone?

Tyvm in advance.

thank you for providing us with a safe alternative, very thankful for this blizzard

No one needed to buy gold when we had gdkp… We would just do one alt raid and it would pay for consumes on all 3 other characters. Now, people buy gold instead of doing GDKP, and everything is so inflated that is 3k gold a week for 3 characters. And if you do buy gold, then youre just making the inflation even worse. It was never even CLOSE to this bad before the GDKP ban.

Well, the easiest way to make that happen is to contact your local government and have them lift any ban or specific tariffs on digital content sold from the United States. Trust me when I tell you that blizzard is not just sitting there saying ā€œno we don’t want money from other countriesā€œ  they are a for-profit business and they would love to have your money just like everyone else’s unfortunately local governments don’t always play nicely when it comes to digital goods and services. So if your country can’t have a token, it’s time to blame whoever your leader is.

As expected, people are out in the comments defending buying gold.

Actually, the issues with Brazil are two, and two only:

  1. we had a huge inflation between 2015/17, when our money devaluated a lot.

  2. because of this, the token price down here was too cheap for you guys. And you’d be VPNing to Brazil to buy tokens at our price. Unable to revert this, Blizz simply took the opportunity away.

Since THAT Blizz (who decided this back then) is no more, Microsoft will sell anything down here, and since the technology to avoid VPN buying got better, I don’t see an issue.

Errr I don’t even recall the last time anyone said the token is not just gold selling. That is literally what the token is. There is no subterfuge.

Are you perhaps referring to the ancient argument of whether or not wow is by default ā€œpay to winā€ because of the token because I guess gold is how one wins wow?

we pay 42 reais (Brazilian currency) for 30 days of games and 39 for the monthly fee
