You points are mute…
1- dungeons and groups are part of the leveling experience
2 - they sell a single boost on 1 faction.

“1- you dont need groups to “level”
2- Blizzard already sells guess what ? Boosts”
I think i somehow won an argument without trying…
keep telling yourself that maybe one day you’ll be right
People would rather get boosted than to play with you. I know, it hurts, youre gonna make it though
4166 posts… troll much?
Glinda gives out hugs to those in need, keep that in mind
just make it so you get no XP in a boosting scenario.
That is the stupidest thing anyone can do, in any game. That means that if a high-level character has some free time and offers a run through a dungeon for free, no one would get any experience.
This will create a divide and complete separation between low and high-level players.
it’s not ideal, but it would be a solution to the abuse that has taken over.
not sure what divide you are talking about. you could still use a high level toon to go in and help get desired loot or help complete a quest.
You’re not wrong, but finding like-minded people on a megaserver will be tough.
apparently my original post was flagged for being offensive… what a terrible forum system this is that even this can be abused.
That’s not at all a solution to anything.
As a high level character, I wouldn’t bother running someone through a dungeon that provided no experience from mobs. That’s just stupid. Heck, I’d be more inclined to power-level them in the open world instead.
Not sure of the divide? If a level 35 was to help tank Deadmines for a group, that entire group wouldn’t get any experience for the entire run. This means that no one would be helping lower levels when they’re having difficulties filling the group, and thus, creating a divide.
there is no divide, you can still do everything…but boost people and funnel them xp. Other mmos in history have had the same thing and nobody complained. Nobody is saying you cant play with your friend that is 10-15 levels lower than you. But boosting them while they sit at the entrance is flat out stupid. Make the penalty for people that are great levels lower than you (20-30 levels) be harsh or 0xp. Easy.
That is why you don’t play on Benediction.
You CAN’T do everything - I enjoy helping other players by running them through dungeons, and neither I nor the players I run should be hindered because of this.
What do you think we used to do back from Vanilla onward? Mages and Paladins alike would power-level other players to help them out. Did we used to charge out the wazoo as many do today? No, but you’re asking to take a gaming fundamental out of an MMO game.
Again, no, that wouldn’t work because of people like me who enjoy helping others out.
“Not sure of the divide? If a level 35 was to help tank Deadmines for a group, that entire group wouldn’t get any experience for the entire run.”
How can you say something that is such and outlier and an anomaly in play should set the rule? Its ridiculous. Honestly no i dont think a level 35 running his 18-20 friends through deadmines should be able to funnel xp and gear at such a great scale. If they need help to get through fine, if they want to spam it for gear fine, but the xp boost/selling/gold selling kills the game period.
ok so its clear. lets make all the rules for the non - normal, not most peoples experience, anomalous experiences dictate the entire game. Clear now.
Also you almost slipped up there, “did we charge people up the wazoo…no” well guess what is happening today? That is the norm. Go fire up LFG right now and look. You try and hide how this practice ruins things behind some fake virtuous need to help people when in reality its rarely practiced, and if it was this would not even affect people because they would have MORE people to play with that aren’t boosting…
Did I ever say that boosting players wasn’t common? Did I ever mention anything of that sort? Not once. I’m well aware of how common it is to see players selling runs for various dungeons. However, I also know countless players that are willing and happy to help others with no expectation of remuneration.
It’s not fake by any means - I enjoy helping people in-game because not everyone has the opportunity to afford boosted runs, and as a result, find it difficult at times to form an appropriatly-leveled group.
I’m sorry, but what?
I presume, by “funnel xp,” you are referring to the mass AoE boosting methods? You do realize that a level 35 will need help surviving, even in Deadmines, right? Furthermore, you can’t just sit at the entrance for a Deadmines run.
Furthermore, boosting has always been part of WoW’s culture - heck, it’s a part of EVERY SINGLE GAME ever created that has any form of a save-state system in place. Can’t be a tough boss? Buy a strategy guide. Have a friend come over and beat it for you. Even NEOPETS had ‘boosting’ by providing items to newer players they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
@Kurathis
Your just going to keep going on an on attempting to drill holes into every comment, because you are likely the problem. Your attempt to beat around the bush is completely garbage. Just admit that you benefit greatly from your GDKP or Boosting efforts. The thread was written exactly against you…
Nothing good can come from exploitation of gold buyers. It’s a PAY2WIN method where instead of paying blizzard to get ahead, you are all paying each other at the expense of website gold buyers.
The cycle of life for you guys
I’ve actually never taken part in a GDKP in any version of the game. I’ve also never paid for someone to boost me. I was fortunate to have had players offer free runs while I was levelling up, though.
What bush am I attempting to beat around, exactly?
No one is exploiting gold sellers. That just doesn’t make sense.
