That would certainly be better than the current situation. At least those arena points wouldn’t be wasted. I doubt Blizz will do this though.
The best solution imo would be to do it the way they’ve done it every season though and have a one-week (or hell even a one-day) grace period to use our points the same as every previous season.
If this were the case I’d be satisfied, but I’d love a confirmation from Blizz one way or another. I could at least buy OS pieces rather than have the arena points disappear, but if they could be stacked into honor on top of the cap so I could get the pieces I actually want, that would be ideal.

A bit sad for players like me who invested time into stacking marks/honor/arena points but i guess this type of huge catch-up is here to cater the modern playerbase.

whats wrong with stayin ahead on the part of the game you prefer ?
if the season wouldve went for a discount, 2handed weapons or weapon sets wouldve been 1500/1550 points, and you can easily keep the rest for honor advance into wotlk,
if they transfer to honor instantly, you lose potentialy up to 50k honor and considering 2h weapons cost 20k each(merciless), if they keep the same ratio you will pay more points than the discounted version in arena points
Will we have any opportunity to spend our left over arena points on reduced price & rating requirements season 4 gear like in seasons prior? Or will we need to wait until it converts to honor to buy things such as shoulders & weapons?

In the case of pvp, it directly goes against the idea of balance.

What about fresh toons and dks? Level to max and grind out 75k in a month to stay equal?
And yes, it will impact fresh servers because they will queue into the same bgs, right?

i mean its a mmorpg, and we keep giving bonus to people that only raid log to be competitive with players that actualy play the game,
90% of the problems of the game, pvp and pve wise, are cause because of people not playing the game and expecting the same results
This is total BS. I’ve been honor capped for months with nothing left to buy and banked up 5k areana points with expectations that the gear would be half price end of season as usual. I just saved up those 5k arena points for nothing. I’d buy the weapons and shoulders now but they are still rating gated. Blizzard should do away with the rating requirments for arena items and offset honor pieces now!

I’m curious as well. Does that mean on the night between August 29th 10pm and August 30th before patch we will have a few hours of discount? Because in previous seasons, the discount occurred right when the season ended at like 10pm per say.
So I wasted my time gathering AP on my 3 characters, great I guess. IMO, it really should have just been season 3 gear available for honor. Blizzard, you have no consistency when it comes to PVP, you need to tell us how arena seasons are going to work in Wrath upfront, I don’t even like doing arenas but you created the pre-existing notion that I need to do them or I’d always be 2 seasons behind in gear but if the plan going forward is to make the current season gear available for honor once the season ends, you need to tell us upfront.
Also, go ahead and add rated bgs because clearly gear is a cheap commodity now so there’s no real argument against it, let people get season 5 gear and onward with how they want to play.
