Removing premades is a short sighted change that only further promotes the cross realm premade meta and erodes the social aspect of the game.
Blizzard has officially thrown in the towel. Queue times are the only part of PvP faction imbalance they seem to care about. Alliance can keep shelling out the $$ and horde get their instant queues.
so gatekeeping world content is ok now?
Thanks Blizzard. These are perhaps the best changes to be done for this game. I’m glad we’re not being left to rot this time around.
All you need to do for the alliance is allow PVE → PVP transfers.
“How exactly do you think this will help?”
This should have been obvious but alliance are majority for most PVE. It would help balance if they were allowed to transfer to PVP where they are minority on most realms.
So, it’s not bad that Horde get more reasonable play times. No Alliance player arguing in good faith feels like Horde should have to sit in 30+ minute queues because they are Horde. I am sure there a few salty Alliance players out there who get killed in WPVP and then enjoy watching Horde sit around waiting 30+ mins for a BG…but I’d wager it’s not the majority of Alliance players.
Alliance players are (by in large) not happy with the proposed change (which is now live for the rest of TBC) because it does nothing to help out a faction that’s already struggling a lot in PvP, and will also start to flag more and more in PvE as well due to Horde just having no disadvantages.
Horde have a bigger pool of more competent people to PvP with; straight up. It’s better rolling the dice and landing in a random Horde BG team than it is landing in a random Alliance BG team. The pool of people Horde side that are good at PvP is bigger, and the pool of people who are in a BG because they want to be there rather than because they have to be… just to grind out equipment, is significant.
If you played random battlegrounds in Classic WoW Alliance side outside a premade, you experienced the whole ‘Just let them win’ attitude of many Alliance players. Lots of people in BGs Alliance side don’t want to put in a lot of effort at the onset, and the few people that due get broken pretty quick when their team is comprised of people who are incompetent…going 0-8 or 0-10 in a game…not even making it to nodes or being casually killed by Horde players who know how to play and make an effort play correctly, gear correctly, talent correctly.
Easier to find a competitive Horde arena team if you want to push arena ranking; bigger Horde population and bigger focus on that faction with respect to PvP engagement.
This has a trickle down effect to PvE; as there’s no reason in particular to be Alliance for PvE and since Horde is where it’s at for PvP…why would you play on a faction that has less going on?
This is super evident on retail WoW; where Horde have more PvP participation and more PvE progression because the talent pool of driven/talent people Horde side has just ballooned over time to be larger…because the developers aren’t competent when it comes to incentivizing their game’s population to balance itself across (2) factions.
Since they lack the competence to remotely balance the factions, I question as this point why they bother keeping the faction system in. They certainly have little to no interest in maintaining it.
The problem isn’t necessarily that Horde got a fix.
The problem is that Horde got a fix that comes at the expense of Alliance. The other problem is the development team has the imagination of a small bird and couldn’t figure out any way to positively impact battleground participation outside allowing Horde to kill one another in BGs.
How exactly do you think this will help?
Just admit you want nobody to play alliance and don’t care about pvp server balance.
Alliance wouldn’t even notice same faction BG ques if Blizz never mentioned it yet its the end of the world for them. Interesting.
Okay, now when is Swift Flight Form being added? You’ve been completely silent about it.
I find it more interesting that, before HvH battlegrounds, the Alliance battle cry was “just reroll lol”
but now that we have HvH battlegrounds, Alliance are crying that they are “forced to reroll for racials”
very interesting indeed
Back to not being able to play with my friends, thanks blizzard.
How freaking lazy, you guys didn’t even try any other options. You just settled on this first solution and drug out the testing to create an illusion of community feedback.
Half the community didn’t want this.
Exactly. Too many horde acting like alliance don’t like this solution because they want horde to sit in long queues. How many alliance care how long horde queue times are? We want Blizzard to address the cause and not just the symptom. Same faction bgs does not.
Same thing we saw in retail. Blizzard removes the only downside to playing the dominant faction and then provides lip service that they’re aware of the faction imbalance, but do nothing about it.
yes, evidence over the course of years…and multiple expansions…and multiple changes to racials…and added races…
TBC was already going to be imbalanced faction wise. HvH changes nothing but Q times at this point.
There never was an intended incentive of that manner. You seem to simply hate players on the horde side.
Also, you listed literally 0 cons because you have none.
Meanwhile alliance 70s dying on dead severs
lmao 5 man premades. thank you for putting this in. when no 1 wanted it
Join me, friend. It is the only way.
They allow paid transfers with zero restrictions whatsoever. That alone should tell you they don’t give AF about server integrity.
Originally, this came during Black Temple.
So if it indeed is now, that’s early.
