One, you’re not zoned for it and two, you just can’t plop anywhere to live.
Be interesting to see how easy it is to move neighbourhoods - especially after say… a guild bust up…
Wonder if we can get a decorative flaming bag of for someone’s front door
While I can respect that they want to ease the dev burden, part of the fun of having a house is choosing where to put it. I don’t want to live in Durotar as a tauren, and I certainly don’t belong in Elwynn. Hopefully eventually we will get other housing locations appropriate for other races, like Mulgore, Eversong, or even Moonglade. It just feels like the same issues we had with garrisons. This is where your garrison is going to be and you’ll like it.
What was the first incarnation of ESO or EQ2?
You have to keep in mind that this will be Blizzard’s first pass at housing (not garrisons), and they’re wanting to start small and branch out after, so we’re all holding our breaths that they’ll take lessons learned from other games.
I’m curious to see if my Horde characters can by a Horde house and my Alliance characters can buy an Alliance house at the same time. Or will we be locked into only owning one house total.
It would be nice, if we could have the ability to change the look of the outside to our own style. So, everyone’s house isn’t the same.
Those are not HOA approved colors.
“We decided early on that there would be two Housing zones available at launch, one for Alliance and one for Horde, with more possible places to live in the future. The Alliance zone takes inspiration from Elwynn Forest with touches of Westfall and Duskwood, and the Horde’s is inspired by Durotar, its coastline, and Azshara.”
Yes to instanced house. We should get have the choice for this.
We should have the choice to have or not neighborhoods. Not everyone wants this.
Good question. I really hope neighborhood is optional and we could have our own intanced house.
I hope I, as a solo player, can get a Private Neighborhood! I’d rather not have to deal with other people. That would be amazing, fingers crossed!
I am still highly… skeptical. I need to re read and really think about what this article says.
Got to say, im not a fan of the whole neighborhood thing.
And it sounds like were getting one house per account… *edit: been pointed out they mention HOUSES.
I would hope they reconsider this, move away from the Final Fantasy neighborhood mess, and look at how Elder Scrolls Online implements housing instead.
With players being able to own multiple houses, with varying houses available in every zone… So you can style each home to a specific need or character…
Neighborhoods should just be like… a guild thing or something. An option, not the baseline.
All in all, it SCREAMS: We are gating all options based on features needed to beef specific patch or expansion in the future.
Not having positive vibes from the:
“Housing will offer hundreds and hundreds of decorations and house customizations via in-game rewards”
I don’t want new rewards, so much as I want to display the stuff I ALREADY earned. How has that not been clear?
I got the impression from the post that we can simply go into our own private neighborhood if we want. Just us.
This is how I feel about the “we dont care for revenue on this” wording.
Like they can say its gonna be minimal and small monetization but they compared it to mounts pets and transmogs…which historically are the most egregious ones. The cash shop gets brand new unique models and creations while free in game gets recolors and reskins. This has been the norm for 10 years now.
‘We don’t want Garrisons, but we want Garrisons with a different name.’
Since it says “private neighborhoods,” I assume that means you could have your own private neighborhood for just you.
That sounds like a Halloween themed toy with a long cooldown.
Please dont let the alliance get the pretty homes and horde get an ugly hut.
I am sorry sir, that “puppy” will require an extra HOA fee. 100K gold/month. More if it is mean to others.
EDIT: Apparently, spelling “extra” is extra hard.
I can NOT wait!
