Designated zones is a mistake. They just had the Kirin Tor quest where we hung out in a freaking POCKET DIMENSION! Apply the same concept to housing. Let us design our own pocket world with land, sky, lighting, weather and so on and so on!
Oh this is going to be monetized x10.
You’ll get a cute little free starter home in Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
Any other worthwhile homes will cost a minimum of $50, and the furniture/decorations to go in it will easily be another $150. Source: Elder Scrolls Online.
Have… Fun.
They are cross faction, read the article again. Further down it mentions you can access either plot on any faction.
This won’t happen.

Don’t speak nonsense no one knows the answer to yet… They said decorations on the store but nothing past that. Can that change? Sure. But you are grasping straws hard, chum
Though there’s only the 1 planned type of “neighborhood” for now, I’m hoping there’s more than 1 type of house.
Elves living in spiky orc huts or night elves living in a human cottage would feel off.
Restricting the zones to human/orc flavor is a massive failure at the start. It should at least allow for different racial cities at a minimum.
It’s 2025 and humans still don’t belong in Durotar.
Uhh, just one thing wrong with that honey bun. Microsoft owns Bethesda/Zenimax. Microsoft owns Blizzard.
This will without a doubt happen XD
So excited!!!
So how does the system works, in regards of where is my house going to be into the neighborhood vs my friends house? is there like a MAYOR person, kinda like a guild master whos says where is each house going to be?
Next set of questions:
- PvP zone? Could we toggle on PvP and make our own bg type neighborhood? Then different PvP guilds could build up houses and scenery to hide and fight in like a more complicated arena.
- Can I place my pets, mounts, NPC helpers (like some of the ones we’ve earned on mission tables) around the base where I want them and designate them as static or moving?
- Suppose I want people to be able to knock.
- Will neighborhoods have a neighborhood chat channel for people who have built in the zone or who are visiting? Can it please be opt in and cross faction?
- If I have 2 accounts (which I do), will that allow me to have more housing if I want? Can I purchase more housing?
- Can we name the neighborhoods?
- Can we put boats along the coast?
- Can we designate the use of toys in a neighborhood, where we have a setting so their effects don’t fade after 5 minutes?
It’ll be no different than cosmetics right now.
This sounds ABSOLUTELY amazing. I can’t wait! I really love that we can have guild / friend neighborhoods!
Yay!
No lottery, no auctions, no losing your house when you don’t log in for any amount of time? Thank you!
Yeah I take their “caution” at announcing cash shop features as seriously as I take an apology from BP Oil. So not at all.
Can’t wait! Will we have Vulpera forniture too?
Please tell us we will have themes for all races
Vulpera rugs and vulpera hide footrests? Yes please!
Oh man, the Durotar/Azshara concept art looks pretty. But I really think The Barrens would have been a better fit for the Horde’s Neighborhood, The Barrens have always felt more like home, especially if playing since before Cata.
Hopefully one Barrens/Mulgore neighborhood will be added at some point.
Thus far: mounts, pets, toys, transmogs have all been majority in game, some in Trading Post, minority in cash shop and things from the cash shop filtering into rotation in the Trading Post.
So there you go. There’s your precedent.
I’m pretty excited for this! I’m hoping that this will be like EQ2’s level of housing, since that is my current favorite in housing in an MMO…
I’m curious if its going to be flyover phasing, and how it might interact with warmode. If we could have neighborhood fights that’d be pretty fun!
