Bug Report: Right Shift Key Gets Stuck in Modifier State After Closing ChatFrame

How to reproduce:

  1. Press Enter to open chat.
  2. Hold Right Shift (RShift).
  3. While still holding RShift, press Enter again to close the chat.

What happens:

  • WoW client incorrectly maintains the Shift key state as “held”.
  • This affects any modifier-based actions (macros, abilities, movement).
  • The stuck state only resets when:
    • Left Shift is pressed once, or
    • Focus changes to another window (Alt+Tab), then back to WoW.

Notes:

  • This issue does not occur with Left Shift.
  • It persists through /reload and cannot be cleared with any in-game script or macro.
  • It is highly reproducible and specific to Right Shift + ChatFrame interaction.

Environment:

  • WoW Classic (Cataclysm Classic)
  • Windows 11

Please investigate – this bug has serious impact during PvP or fast-paced communication.
