This has been a problem for a while now. Always happens in grassy areas. Happens in TBC Nagrand and Uldum too.
iMac M4 10CPU/10GPU
24GiB
MacOS 26.2
Edit:
Thanks to Scott for noticing that using FXAA fixes the issue. It seems the cause is CMAA2. CMAA seems alright.
Bug in CMAA2? Negative texture bias causing CMAA2 to flip out?
I’ve seen the same issue, both in TBC Nagrand and Silverpine Forest. M4 Pro Mac mini running Sequoia or Tahoe. I haven’t seen it in any TWW zones, so hopefully it won’t be an issue in Midnight.
Check your activity monitor for Agent’s ram usage.
Just found out my Agent was using over 40gb of ram, force quit, restarted battle net and it’s fixed now.
sorry, I need to add:
The agent ram fix helped but didn’t fully fix it, changing anti aliasing to image based techniques > FXAA low fully took care of it.
Battle net launch is closed after WoW launches.
I’m not going to use FXAA. This is a bug Blizzard has to fix.
Edit:
After some testing, it seems the cause was CMAA2. Switching to CMAA fixes it.

That’s a shame. CMAA2 performs better than CMAA1 and visually looks better if using render scale
I still use CMAA2. Its quality is significantly better than CMAA even though it can bug out in certain areas.
