[Bug]Gara the Spirit Beast

I seem to have encountered a bug or glitch that I can't find anyone else posting about so hoping for some answers here.

I was doing the "quest" (more like sequence of events as there is no actual quest log for this) to tame Gara the Spirit Beast in Shadow Moon Valley. Made the spirit effigy and used it on the grave, got the lantern, and clicked the dagger. Killed the Void Spirits until Xan finally appeared and then killed Xan. Finally was given the option to tame Gara.

Anyways this is where the issue started. Part way through me casting tame on Gara my client crashed. When I was able to get back in I had not successfully tamed Gara, I triple checked both stable and active pets to be certain. I can click the dagger in the tree no problem and re-enter the Void Realm. Problem is Gara is no longer spawning in the void realm nor will he appear when I kill Xan again. I have tried this several times with no luck.

I checked the forums and did intensive searches online to see if anyone else has had the same issue and found nothing. Gara no longer shows up in my game neither at the grave or to help me fight in the Void Realm. This makes it so I can't tame him and this is becoming increasingly frustrating. It was something I was greatly looking forward to. Does anyone know of a way to get Gara to respawn?

Opening a Ticket is likely your best option.

Opened one twice. First one got a generic and unhelpful response telling me to use Quest Tracker which doesn't apply in this case. And it appears my second was closed without answer.

had the same thing happen to me but died while taming,went back and gara is gone,went back a few more times and killed xan and still nothing,talked to gm said to post in forums so hopefully this works.

I'm having the same problem since Sunday night. Tonight I found a hunter there and they invited to kill Xan together. We killed Xan but only one Gara appeared for them. I ask them come back with another guardian and that didn't work either. Went to the grave with them and Gara wasn't there for them also. Dead End until I saw your post problem like mine.

I'm having a similar/same issue. Gary died before I could tame her. Now when I click the dagger, I'm all alone. Gary does not spawn with me to fight the voids. If people can get multiple Gara's once she is tamed, we must be caught in our own void . . . GM please help!

I believe I read you had to kill the boss thing again to get gara.

If you have read any of the comments, people are killing the boss, multiple times and nothing happens.

I've killed the boss now TWICE after the first time with Gara. However, Gara is not showing up again when I click the blade. As such, killing the boss does not help if Gara is not with you in the Void Realm when you kill the boss as there is then nothing to tame. She has to be with you to tame her after killing the boss. So there must be something else that needs to be done so Gara joins you when you click the blade! What are we missing?

Has anyone been able to get a Lantern to drop after the glitch? Shadow Voidtwisters do not drop it for me anymore.

After several days of puzzling over this and trying to get lanterns to drop etc
I decided to check the tree with the dagger and indeed it was there without
having the lantern, I activated it and Gara appeared, I had him tamed minutes
later so DO NOT forget to check the tree!

Gara (spirit) spawns when I go to the shadow realm but after I kill the void lords Xan wont spawn... Im going to open a ticket and post back.

I have had the same problem, except my client didn't crash. Mother Om'ra spawned after I killed Xan and told me to tame Gara, so I did. As I tamed her, Mother Om'ra said "at last you've done it, my spirit can be at peace" - except Gara faded away, she didn't become my pet. Not in my active pets or stabled pets.

She isn't there when I return to the void realm either. I think the game thinks I "completed" the questline, so it isn't giving me the chance to tame her anymore? It is buggy.

Opened a ticket but will check back here later.

Same thing happened on my hunter toon. Gara faded tried to go back in void realm she never appeared nor killing elites brought back Xan to have a chance to tame her again.. opened ticket..hoping they have a resolve

My wife tried to tame Gara at the end of the quest, but Gara vanished into thin air after the tame attempt. Now the scenario is the same as others have described in this thread.

Let's get this bug fixed, please.

I find it laughable that Blizzard goes out of their way to make this great questline for hunters - lots of effort put into designing this quest, but oh wait, they forgot to QA the last part of it beyond one test run scenario.

Ok I am having the same issues that everyone else here is having.. tried taming Gara.. she disapears.. so I go in the Void again .. killing Xan.. and Mother Om'ra and Gara never spawn.. Opened a ticket.. waited 5 freaking days for a response. Then I get their lame generic response to look up some websites on what to do. I reopened my ticket and lord only knows how long I will wait for them to just close it again. I think this is poor customer service .. as there is clearly an issue here and we are just being ignored sadly..

When you post a ticket, ask for an immediate escalation.

I have had much the same experience. Both with Gara despawning during the tame and the customer service issues. I hope this will get resolved.
