I went assassin with a healer in 2s and actually forgot to put poisons on and still won the game pretty easily lol my pressure was as good if not better than subs with no poisons on for 95% of the match. When I finally noticed and put deadly poison on I killed the enemy team in like 5 seconds I thought it was pretty funny.

Sub needs more than a damage buff. It needs a decent slow. Subs decline started when blizzard decided to spread out rogue cc across the specs. Gouge and kidneyshot were essential between dances. Not having a passive slow makes sub by default a poor pvp spec.

Assassination in the meta is stupid... its the beginner spec being played while everyone on your team does what you should be doing. You should be ashamed to be assa and you should thank your teammates for doing your job.
I agree with nolifez. The 30% slow is really underwhelming. I have recently actually been tempted to play shiv talent vs some comps just for the slow. Otherwise my 30% slow doesnât actually do anything.
Remember when Shadowstrike would teleport you to the target even during dance? Now I'm lucky if it teleports me correctly during stealth and doesn't bug out smh

I started messing with Shiv in BGs. I still want to test it more...but the part that REALLY stinks about shiv is the only lasting 4 secs. I like that it is a free cast, but it does pitiful damage. I wish they would remove the damage factor, and increase the duration to at least double what it is at. 8 secs on a 12 sec cd would be more preferable. I think I'd even take it at a 15sec cd.

I'd like to see Shiv reworked to a 90% slow that reduces over time with no damage and made a Sub spell not a pvp ability. The pvp ability could modify Shiv.
Example: 10 second cooldown [Down from 12]
Shiv. Dispel one enrage effect from target. [Changed from all], and reduce movement speed by 90% diminishing by 10% every second. Lasts 7 seconds.
Cannot be blocked,dodged,or parried
Example PVP ability:
When Shiv is removed before 7 seconds gain x% speed.

I'm playing Subtlety this Xpac and this is the first time I'm playing PvP. I can tell much for lack of experience, but I do make a difference in battle, with all my stuns and burst damage, much more than in PvE. I would welcome a buff, of course, but I can't tell if it is needed.
people used to invite me to train healers. now they invite rogues instead
Kind of hilarious how the only people coming in and saying sub is viable have 0 arena matches, you almost never encounter them in the arena ladder and when you do it almost feels like a free win. I have enjoyed assassination since it is in a strong place but I sincerely miss the option of being able to play sub. It was a lot of fun last expansion and I'm sure it was a lot of fun before it got nerfed into the ground this expansion. The lack of slows hurt but even with well timed CC chains you don't have the dmg to finish people off, you would need to be completely reliant on your partners dmg.
You Subs have angered me enough to the point that I'm both glad and laughing Blizzard took away what you had going in Legion. I'd recommend Blizzard not to give you any buffs. In all seriousness, you've had it too good for too long, while I struggled to compete as a ranged in the wonderful World of MeleeCraft.
Now, when it comes to the point where you have to put in the work, so many of you probably ditched the spec like the fair-weather (discretionary) you really were. No, you don't get to one-shot people with ridiculous CDs this time. Those days are gone like the wind that carried you off to the next braindead OP class/spec, and I ended up getting the last laugh.

There is nothing more ironic than a hunter calling another class braindead.

The real irony is a Disc priest making this claim. And I said "class/spec", not class.
Knowing that rogues actually have to work for something--like I do all the time every time--gives me enjoyment already. Deterrence is useless anyway; it delays the inevitable in 9/10 engagements with melee. I'm sure you knew that with your OP self-heals that have been going on for not two but going on THREE expansions now. Talk about braindead and a far worse case of it; I can't think of any rogue spec that had been OP for as long as Disc has continuously. Someday before the last expansion you'll get nerfed to the point where you'll have to work for yours too but I'm already refusing to give equal-or-greater-ilvl Discs the time of day in the field.
They might as well be "mushrooms" who are best kept untouched as to focus more on targets that can be killed.

All I'm going to say is: if you're going to bait someone, let's actually do it with a class/spec that is indeed ridiculously OP. The reason why it's not working with me is because I know the points I'm discussing. You can't even stay on context good enough for me to stay engaged, except when I see the irony of a certain class/spec like yours who have been practically IGNORED or approved of by the devs at least since WoD. When Disc has been the most powerful healer in any PvP scenario, and can DPS just as good as any one else, I would do what EVERY GOOD HUNTER would do and just butt out of those engagements the best I can.
But go ahead, continue to troll and bait others who don't play combo healer/dps class/specs. It doesn't look like your jig is going anywhere before the last expansion. Live it up. It's as good as it gets in the game. You're not going to insult me for what I am as a Hunter because I'm not going to be in the same picture as you.
Switching to Shadow spec, however, might buy you a "Hello".
