we get 3% buff and every one else 5%… well still that doesn’t resolve anything. BLIZZ! our survaibility is on the ground!!!
I just read Havoc DH receives a 5% dps buff on Feb 2nd. Better than nothing. The notice is a blue notice in General Discussion but is in the posting area and not at the top with hotfixes.
3% not 5% like f dks
With Havoc Demon Hunter having no presence in any competitive field of the game (Castle Nathria race to world first, MDI, or AWC) and being the ONLY class to have no appearance in the Shadowlands AWC at all, along with its general lack of presence on the PVP ladder, it could not be more obvious that the class is under performing and needs a serious buff/rework of its abilities.
A few suggestions that would improve the performance of the class.
- Mortal Rush becoming a baseline effect triggered by our Blade Dance or Throw Glaive instead of Fel Rush, similar to how Wind Walkers Monks have their healing reduction triggered by Rising Sun Kick as a baseline effect. This could also give Throw Glaive a meaningful place in the rotation, as its only purpose now is killing totems and keeping targets in combat due to the ability’s low damage.
- Demon Hunter defense is arguably the greatest weakness of the class. Even with the Darkest Hour legendary, Demon Hunters die too easily. Something Demon Hunters desperately need is the ability to press either Blur, Netherwalk, or Darkness while stunned. Another idea that could work is Netherwalk becoming a baseline ability with a 5 minute cooldown, and the talent reducing the cooldown to 3 minutes and making the ability usable while stunned. This may seem like an overpowered buff, but Demon Hunters NEED a very significant buff in order to be put back on the map.
- Replacing the Unbound Chaos effect with the old Legion Artifact Inner Demons trait. It should still keep the proc from lImmolation Aura. (Activating Immolation Aura causes your next Chaos Strike to unleash your inner demon, causing it to crash into your target and deal Chaos Damage to all nearby enemies.) This could keep the same demonic crash idea and damage as the original Unbound Chaos pre change. And it would be easy to add since the ability was already in the game and worked perfectly fine during Legion.
- Glaive Tempest cooldown increased to either 30 seconds or 1 minute and damage increased to compensate, to make the ability feel more like a valuable cooldown instead of an addition to our basic rotation with its current 16 second cooldown. This will also allow Glaive Tempest to synergies with Fel Eruption/Chaos Nova better.
- First Blood becoming a baseline feature to Blade Dance instead of a talent and being replaced with the old Bloodlet talent from Legion. This is something that the Demon Hunter community has been asking for since Legion, but this change would be tricky and would require additional changes to other talents/abilities in order to not over tune the class (Essence Break would need modifications to start). Havoc DH feels like an incomplete class without First Blood from a PVP prospective, and the specialization could use this kind of bleed uptime to its play style.
These are all simply just ideas. Im not saying that Havoc needs ALL of these ideas added to the class. Any feedback from the community can help and if anyone has any other ideas that can work just add them in the comments. Like and share to spread awareness!
Please Bliz please. 3% is nothing. We need to be able to survive. Our single target damage is the worst in the game. We need a flat 15% damage buff to put us even to the middle of the pack and they need to un-gut the defensive nerfs. Stop forcing everybody to play mage/paladin.
I agree, Havoc definitely needs a buff. Like 10% at least
Blizz is not going to make changes now, blur is a 50% 50% change of not dieng that fast? i try it on huntman when you get the arrows pointing at you. and we spend all night in that fight, i didnt see any benefit of using it. having darkness as legendary, 20% dodge the attacks? even having 50% is terrible.
shaman can use the skill while they stun to repel the enemies. just give use the leech as we have in BFA, dont do crazy sfuff… or give us a shield really DH survability is TERRIBLE! not sure if blizz don’t read the forums, see the feedback? they dont care? they think is ok? etc…
Yes and a resounding yes. The miniscule buffs of 5% and 3% are in line with what other specs got, so we can assume they believe Havoc is “working as intended” currently. It’s going to be a long expansion of fighting to be on par with the rest for Havoc. Strap in or hop off.
Bump havoc is trash
3% hahaha nice one Blizzard. Buff havoc in a meaningful way. I guess we’ll see what happens when subs start dropping…
Blizz, we are NOT prepared!!!
On the ground? My friend it fell off the cliff
Pretty high AOE DPS that’s easy to do. Not doing too bad in M+ dungeons.
Considering that’s pretty much our only thing right now, “middle of the pack” still leaves havoc in a pretty sad spot. Single target is still trash, and survivability is pretty much a joke.
Havoc still needs fixing.
Middle of the pack is normal. If you move up someone else has to move down. The goal of balancing is to get everyone to be average. Can’t all be number 1. If there is 24 DPs specs, and Havoc is like number 12, remember there is 12 other DPS specs that have it worse than you. Those should get priority. Why would blizzard buff an average spec? They are aiming for average. Don’t fix what’s not broke. From what I’ve seen, even before the recent buff, Havoc was in the top half.
There is problems in pvp, and I feel like being forced to take a specific covenant for PvP is kind of stupid. Survivability is a problem with almost every spec right now. Burst is crazy, and you can feel the burst on every class. But I do feel like we are missing something. Maybe like a castable heal, but that would be weird for a non caster class.
Has anyone suggested a soul storage type of skill or talent. Something that would act like a reservoir for the over healing from souls?
There is a hundred suggestions, but honestly most of the devs don’t come to these forums. They are a place for people to vent. Blizzard even has a policy that tells developers not to interact with the community too much, because it drags down moral and makes people miserable over there. Some might do anyways.
Yes balance means all classes should be around a 10 variance from top to lower dps, be aware that certain mechanic on bosses, or most are way easier for a range to keep making damage since they don’t have to move much.
I am not in any expectations of be number one or 2 etc. Is that the top dps * .90 = to lowest spec.
On top we only have 2 specs compare to the rest so is not like we can be in a bother dps spec till they fix another some cases tank does the same damage as dps spec
And for pvp dh havok is extremely weak, the self healing is terrible, other classes can instantly self heal, and buble absorbing damage from all sources.
Dh survability is blur 50% chance to be hit and if we are a 20% reduction, the talent only gives an additional reduction, not even increase the %of been dodge or lower the cd.
The survival joke only have one viable option, get the 5% leach and even that one is terrible since force to play demonic talent,. No other class have to sacrifice talents to survive.
Shamans paladins hunters, instant self heal, dks warriors one skill every 30sec approx and get 30%hp back… We get 6sec in demonic every 30sec to get some hp back I say some since we won’t get that much and is well know, to kill a dh just stun him while metamorphosis is up, wait till is down and tata dh death. Vs a rogue? Nothing we can do at least we should be able to trigger blur while stun.
ive been the #1 or #2 dh in 3s most of the season but the past few weeks ive been so discouraged that i havent even played my dh in 3s. i have lost faith that the blizz dev team will fix this. their current pvp only change to chill streak leaves me the impression they think its balanced. so either they are lazy or ignorant, neither is ok.
Bump.
Please buff our ST dmg and defensives. Easy fix for the devs is buff chaos strike and blur, revert leech. This could be applied in a weekly reset, then address the main class issues down the line in a major content patch, hopefully. Btw this comes from a PvP perspective.
