Unironically thatâs the biggest problem with boomy in that devs just have no idea how to balance starfall.
It either ends up INSANE in m+/bgs and awful in raid/arena or vice versa (or mediocre in both).

Because Starsurge felt so great to press. You could use it less often than today of course but it hit much harder. There was something about the build-up to 40 or 80 AP when it was simpler and slower that had more agency compared to todayâs Eclispe and spam system, and I miss that every day since it changed. I think the game today suffers from bloat in ALL the wrong directions. Boomy is just even more outdated, and you can feel it when you play every match.

Yes, that would be fried. They removed instant Polymorph through Presence of Mind because that was fried. Now imagine that for Cyclone. People already complain enough about Shimmer Poly.
Ya but you canât compare mages in this context. They have infinitely more mobility, survivability and two full immunity charges along with a spammable cc (and ice wall, and dragons breath, and knock back, and a shorter root CD+procced roots, and multiple slows). If mages didnât have ice block your argument would make more sense
Iâm not making an argument. Iâm using an example. Player perception isnât logical. People already hate Cyclone because itâs giga-polymorph. Balance Druid is already struggling enough and could be fixed in other places rather than making their CC more unbearable to players.
Imagine if Frost wasnât just allowed to have exceedingly more defensive power than the other two specs without taking any kind of hit to their kit?
Maybe something as simple as increasing their armor in moonkin form would make the difference, since they donât really have a huge problem with casters, but are forced into bearform almost immediately when a warrior looks at them
Yepppppp. They removed the PvP talent Ironfeather Armor from Moonkin (Moonkin form increases your armor by an additional 25% and reduces your chance to be critically hit by melee attacks by 20%). Why? Well, itâs anyoneâs guess!!!
Stuff like that is much better than Survival Instincts, for sure.

I personally donât think it would be insanely broken BECAUSE of where boomy is at in the meta, but I think any instant cast ranged hard CC is pretty toxic in general.
Thatâd be comparable to DH imprison, but that has a 45s cd. I realize thatâs similar to NS, but you can recast and/or chain cyclone outside of that. I think this could create really toxic scenarios where youâd instantly clone a dps with stops and then swap it to a healer with impunity.
It wouldnât be more broken than anything mage or rogue has in their toolkits and likely wouldnât be an issue with current tuning, but I think thatâs overall a horrible reason to make changes that are toxic for gameplay reasons.
This is the thing I canât stand. Dmg modifiers on Boomy make it atrocious and not fun to play. Plus the fact that Full Moon should be Boomyâs BOOM spell and itâs just never viable cuz 3s cast time and if youâre kicked youâre omega locked out of everything, including 2/3 defensives (Renewal, Barkskin). Get rid of dmg modifiers on Boomy and make Full Moon either cast time like Glacial Spike or rework it to be an astral power dump like Earth Shock.
Not to mention you have to cycle through 3 moon phases to actually use the spell.
Why canât the first 2 phases just be instant cast??? Boomy has so much ramp time already as it is, plus the long as heck Full Moon cast time. The instant Fury of Elune cast is what makes it way more of an attractive option over Full Moon, but I long for a real NUKE on Boomy and would love to feel good when using Full Moon.
I wish Full Moon were an instant or a standalone shorter-casted AP spending nuke, the opposite of Fury of Elune. The Eluneâs Chosen talents could then increase the dmg and reduce the CD. This would introduce more choice back into the specâs toolkit. Overall, more options in an MMO = more fun. It would make you have to think when doing DPS, and plan around the big hit. It would telegraph by the Druid reaching 100 AP, using CDs, and the enemies knowing they gotta RUN. It could have a unique animation with a scary sound to compliment it, providing it hits as hard as it should.
