Still busted. Happened just now, Doomhammer server.
Iām having the same issue. Past couple times, it just never spawned.
I am here to say as of May 29th 2023 this bug has not been fixed. Basically we fight him, eat the rock treat, and open the chest but there is not any loot. He did chase a random player outside of his ring so Iām not sure if that impacted it or triggered the bug. Not sure how to report this in game since we arenāt in beta anymore. >.>

Patch 10.1.7 has not fixed the problem.Ā If you defeat Brullo the Strong while he is casting Legs of Steel or Arm-Ageddon, he will still bug out and not spawn the reward chest.
Not sure if itās the cause of merely coincidence. When farming him the chest did not appear for me if someone else activated the Dialogue that I was not grouped with. Testing my theory, I stopped killing him if someone else started the event that would not group with me.
After that I stopped getting bugged chests. My thought is that even though he shows up as eligible for me to tag the actual ātaggingā is done via his dialogue.

Another week, another denied reward. I tried to hold back my blood dkās DPS, but the others in the area didnāt and so Brullo was defeated while channeling an ability.
If thereās not going to be any fix for the chest bugging out because of this, at least have the decency to nerf the rare elites so they can be soloed and reduce the lockout period. It has been difficult enough for months now to find others interested in farming specific rares, and soloing on a tank alt for sixteen minutes is not my idea of a good time.

8/2/2024 just killed brullo on the moon guard realm as I do every once in a whileā¦ I made sure he didnāt die during fixate and he didnāt leave the arenaā¦ And no chest spawned!
I have sat around for a few min cause people said try waiting a few min afterā¦ NOTHING!
my assumption is the same as everyone elseās that this rare is still bugged and even if he does show up thereās no guarantee he will leave the chest behind. It would be helpful if blizzard would confirm or deny if he is always supposed to leave the chest behind or if itās a rng factor or if itās truly bugged and needs fixing.
It is weird that this would be intended but I wouldnāt also put it past them to have it be something dumb like āhe only leaves his chest SOMETIMESā But i feel like by now we would have had answer if that was intended so going with still bugged even if you follow the steps of not killing him during the fixate or allowing him to exit the arena.
Since my last kill I have an update!
I was able to get the brul pet however the fighting of the rare did not go accordingly at all.
So not only did he exit the arena cause a hunter stood off to the side just outside of it, He also died while channeling. I was able to use my rocks on the rocks and loot the chest obtaining the petā¦
So We are officially at the point of no info makes sense anymore.
Originally it was thought he canāt exit the arena, or die while channeling. Well iāve proven that to be false.
I donāt know if itās still bugged or not in general
but from personal experience I was able to loot the pet under the most crappy of circumstances he could have given.
So in closingā¦. We just donāt seem to know anymore whatās going on with this rare at this pointā¦
confirmation from blizz / a bug fix should be looking into heavily with this rare cause there is tons of information scattered about him and nobody can find a accurate answer of what is making the chest not spawn even to this day.
GL on your pet it is still worth it to try for it im finding BUT! donāt be surprised if that chest donāt spawn at this point itās just so finky and feels like there is no definite answer still.
