Oh yeah I agree, it’s weird they’d even bother to change this.

I’m just poking fun at the fact that Blizzard doesn’t seem to be able to do anything without creating some kind of backlash.

if you are talking about not mounting when moving that might have been fixed but the instant mount when not moving is there

It’s probably like the Otterworldly Ottuk but even worse. They didn’t want to make it work with skyriding, but they also didn’t want to bother with making it be a ‘steady flight only’ mount so they just made it a ground mount instead.

Well, the distinction between the event broom and the TP/cash shop one that makes the former notable for many players is that one’s instant cast. It’s the combination of instant cast + flying mount that’s important here, not simply whether or not it can fly.

Did you try in Steady Flight? It may not be compatible with Skyriding.

The magic broom is still instant cast, it’s just only a ground mount. It used to be able to fly prior to Eve’s being available in October 2023.

Not being able to instant cast while flying in DR mode is a bummer.

Could be bugged. All my tricky treats disappear whenever I log out of a character. Haven’t bothered to do any of the other Halloween stuff cause I’m afraid of losing currency.

Ok I checked again and it seems like its fixed for me now.

They need to sell more store mounts, and they need your money bad. Subscriptions are dropping, and they need to come up with enough shop sales to offset that, to show to Microsoft that they’re doing it right.

Who’d have thought that all the changes that were intended to make the game less fun would result in people playing less or not at all?

That’s ridiculous. This is a change that should be reverted immediately. It was one of the best parts of the holiday to have the instant cast flying mount.
