Bring Yrel back as a villain Blizz

None of which is actually supported by facts; the orcs were practicing shamanic traditions that would have at a minimum focused on the continued survival of the environment around them.

And yeah: Yrel was basically at the point where she viewed anyone that didn’t convert as an enemy. Whether this was the will of the Naaru or not we can only speculate on but either way it doesn’t say anything good about them.

The timeline isn’t completely gone yet as far as we know.

I bet she’ll show up in a future expac just older and more powerful.

No, It’s more a case of how beings of “pure good” turn against anyone and anything that doesn’t maintain the same level of purity and it would actually make sense for the Naaru as ultimate representatives of the light wanting to spread it absolutely everywhere so that everything is light.

I’d join you in following her if they do bring her back. Illy may have had a problem with the whole Light thing. I say bring it on. Lightbound me up, and let me purge all those non-Light following heretics.

Is this a euphemism?

It’s less that it’s gone so much as it is an entirely seperate universe and I doubt that the Lightforged of that continuity would have the capacity to bridge the gap.

Blizzard has said at a QnA that the reason everyone wants to affect Prime Azeroth is because only events in Prime Azeroth have any permanence. Alternate bubbles like Draenor can exist, but aren’t stable in the Twisting Nether and either collapse or fold into Prime Azeroth’s timeline. AU Draenor becomes Outland and since all the events of Outland happened in the prime universe, they overwrite the events of Draenor and Yrel would cease to exist.

That’s why at the end the Legion wanted to invade Prime Azeroth, not destroy AU Azeroth.

Initially, I read your post really quickly and didn’t see the word head.

Elementals aren’t gods either, Naaru are much closer and they are the gods of her religion.

Of course it’s a terribad story that blizz forced to get brown orcs (which was stupid because they are already on outland) doesn’t mean they have to further ruin it now.

I mean, the orcs deal with the void and other things, that’s why the mag’har have priests. Yrel gives them the chance to go. Obviously we see that as the villains of the mag’har storyline because it’s all shown from their perspective alone.

That’s Standard Plot device. Even though Banshee queen is getting replaced with Calia Menethil, Tyrande has to die… or they wont since proudmoore could take blightcaller’s place and it stays balanced. I forsee Tyrande and Malfurian dieing to “keep it balanced” though.

Nah. The Naaru were never portrayed as anything but selfless good unless they became a dark Naaru.

It was only with Xe’ra and then BfA that some sad person decided they couldn’t have anything that was legitimately good.

The fact that they had to continue their wrecking with Yrel made it even worse.

Exactly, and since when has following the advice of anybody all Void addled led to anything decent? The Void consumes, the Light creates.

Pretty much, funnily enough, it makes the entire BE storyline of BC pointless.

It’s just the edgy storytelling of nowadays where nothing is good, everything is relative.

I got that reference…

Man, Im getting old…

This is based on the Naaru that we’ve seen which come out to… less then a dozen and almost all separated from real power bases.

So again, it’s not unreasonable to assume that the Naaru’s desire to spread the light might not be as benign as we think.

No, it’s the bad story telling of Blizzard where they want shades of gray and utterly fail at being able to write shades of gray, so we still have ludicrously good and evil, but they’re everywere.

I did the quest line for the Mag’Nar Orcs and she’s trying to bring all of Draenor to the light. So she might come as an evil person. Durotan might be evil too.

It is most likely already in the works to have an expansion where the alternate timeline army of the light will invade Azeroth.
Most of the army of the light will have to sacrifice itself in order to re-open the time portal temporarily so that the rest of the army can invade. It will be at this point that they will start killing or lightforging any creature in their path.

Nope, Blizz already said in the Blizzcon interview thy don’t have plans for Yrel and the whole thing. They literally just randomly wrote it for the mag’har.
