Bring Your Hero up to Speed with the Enhanced Level 70 Boost

That’s a good question. But even though they are trivial, Blizz will never do away with rep because it’s something to waste the players time. That’s essentially the only advantage you’re buying with this boost; to not have your time wasted. Because reps are certainly NOT endgame progression…an idea so silly it makes me want to laugh out loud.

This isn’t pay to win, but it sure does diminsh what current players worked for in the CURRENT expansion that is barely a year old. I’m surprised there isn’t a bigger outcry about this when the trading post/Twitch drop mounts get so much attention for diminishing rare mounts. This is way worse IMO.

And quest items next expansion will diminish what we’re currently doing in this one, I don’t see the issue.

Can we get a hint at when more pally races will be unlocked? If it’s with Warthin launch I’d save this boost for one.

It’s because it’s only 424 ilvl. They say “Raid Ready”, because you can get into LFR. But everyone knows you aren’t getting into any real content with 424 ilvl. So it’s just better gear to not die in open world activities.

That’s entirely different and consistent with the history of the game.

Yeah 424 to be able to grind for whelpling for crafted 447, and be able to not be complete dead weight in low m+.

Why is this where you draw the line? I was already 447 previous season. 424 is first season ilvl if you were doing competitive end game.

Inappropriate. Why is this where you draw the line again? Why is it ok that crafting catch up gear you get from doing world content can have the same ilvl as previous season mythic gear level, but is not okay for catch up gear to be the ilvl you could get 2 seasons ago. Expansion is irrelevant.

Because you’re paying a sum of money to have it delivered to you in one nice neat package and it goes against the history of this MMO. It’s gross, a money grab, reeks of desperation, and also for the reasons I said earlier.

I feel you are taking this game too seriously. I mean if you was talking about paying real money to get current ilvl gear sure go off queen. But we are talking about gear that will just stop you from dying to ED rares one shot abilities.

Dunno, just seem like you’re just looking for reason to be outraged. But forums gotta forums.

It’s not a big deal.

It further erodes this game. Seems like you’re pretty mad someone has a diffferent opinion than you. Maybe get a hobby, I dunno.

Erodes how? It’s weak gear just enough to join LFR. You don’t want shorter LFR queues? You don’t want more people engaging in endgame content?

There is a rather large part of the community that plays as a pastime. They play to have fun, and skip the stuff that isn’t fun, grinds that for other, more competitive players lead to bragging rights.

There are people who take pride in how much boring grind they put up with.

And, as in any game, but especially in this one, there is a large segment of the player population that thinks anyone who does not play exactly like them is doing life wrong and does not deserve to be permitted to play a game with godlike gamers.

so much of this game has dead content and you guys do nothing to even try to make old content really up to speed like ffxiv does with their dungeons via roulettes and gw2 does with the ENTIRE game being pretty much relevant at all times. here it’s speed boost to max and get your butt into m+. retail man…it sucks.

pls just make servers for each expac so i can exp each game as it was lol its not too late to bring back tbc!

I mean, pre-boost the reps were not a waste of time. They provided access to mogs, titles, and mounts. Players that wanted them, would grind them out to have them.

Like if you get something at the end of it, for having done it, then it’s not a waste. Just something that doesn’t appeal to all players.

If it’s honestly THAT trivial, like why include it in the boost to begin with? Why give it to players, if it’s something so trivial and as some as put it “doable with your monitors off”. Then why bother giving it away in the boost? Like they gave it away in the boost for a reason, and that reason is that a lot of players haven’t actually done the work to get their reps up yet, so this entices more sales.

Myself personally, I enjoy rep grinding/farming.

I’ve never understood the people who are like “you’re having fun in the game, but you’re not doing it how I DO IT?! You’re doing it wrong, and it’s worthless to do it”.

Like, more casually doable content like the story and rep grinding in the world is what I enjoy, and earning that reputation eventually pays off when I can buy those cosmetics, they’re not even player power. They’re just little appearances that I earned for playing the game how I was playing it.

So to have that ripped away simply because it’s not what the competitive crowd enjoys, is just incredibly awful, and effectively made MOST of my time in this game the last year and a half or so a giant waste of time.

Like sure I raid and do PvP, but beyond that the bulk of my enjoyment is the overworld casual stuff that’s chill.

So we done thinking Microsoft will make wow better?

If you enjoyed it, how could it have been a waste of time?

I don’t think they actually take over until next year. So who knows?

Like I still enjoy the game, but I’m going to be vocal about this. Because I don’t want to spend another expansion earning my rep/renown, and feeling accomplished when I get those in game rewards for doing it.

Just to have it be trivialized with a boost at the end.

Like IMO Rep shouldn’t be in a cash shop boost, they just be like event buffs like Darkmoon or Timewalking.

I also don’t mind getting a rep boost if you’ve already made it that far on one toon.

Or rep from all your toons combining to make the progress faster.

It’s just them flat out being like, “pay us money, and you can have this rep” that is grating me so intensely.

I almost always buy the Heroic or Epic edition Xpacs.

Those usually come with a boost. So it’s literally Blizz saying “HAHA you actually worked for this?!?!”

It’s a slap in the face to me on that end.

It’s then even more upsetting when you think about the fact that people who didn’t even care about or try to work on the reps, are getting them as well.

Thus invalidating my time and progression in the game.
