I don’t have a Black Scarab, but I do have the Shifting Sands achievement. Which I actually didn’t get until just before Cataclysm even though I was playing during the AQ gates event on Anvilmar.
What I’d rather see them do is make all of the scarabs rideable outside of AQ, not just the Black and the Archaeology one.
On the whole, I usually don’t care if they bring back something rare that I have that was discontinued. Although normally I prefer it they bring it back in a slight variation, color or trim or something. That way other people can have darn near the same thing, and if you have the old one, then you have another new mount (or pet, or transmog, or whatever)
That achievement always felt backhanded to me.
It gloats about others having the mount and doesn’t provide a reward of its own. It should have been a title in and of itself.
And thats not how it worked. If they brought back the event in its original form only a small number would get the mount and only the person who actually rang the gong would get the title. Thats because people can contribute on a very small scale - you could contribute by deposting a handful of bandages. To get the mount you have to complete a long questchain. So sure, if you complete the quest chain in the time allotted then you would get the mount.
That would be a neat option.
Ask away, who knows.
But the logic that if they bring one thing back they HAVE to bring everything back is invalid.
Yeah, and that would be a dumb thing to do. If they brought it back it would need to change to be a more rewarding to the community.
I disagree but I suspect you and I will disagree on many things.
Many achievements in this game have specific requirements and limitations. Should we remove all of those and just hand them out like participation certificates?
And the mount was available for anyone who completed the quest chain and went to Silithus during a certain time window. While the gates remained open they could get the mount. The gates had to close at some stage in order to reset the event.
Again, there are mounts in the game that require player activity to get them. Is taking part in content somehow wrong?
I don’t know if we do or not but don’t most people on the planet disagree on many things?
I never stated to hand it out.
Neat we have time walking now a days.
Again where are you getting this hand out concept?
From:
So what part in particular is a dumb thing to do?
Limit the rewards if people put in the effort.
Unnnnlesssssss they make it a yearly event and all who ring the gong get the cheeve and mount
And then you’d have people complaining because they kept missing it because they were never able to be on when it was.
I’m not being terribly serious on this point as I don’t believe it will happen anyway so its all moot.
Yep, I complain about the Garrosh heirlooms whenever I get the chance People (myself included) did the content and didn’t get the heirlooms they wanted, why? RNG and limited time, not cool. Normally I don’t say ‘I should get the reward’ but in the case of limited time you should
Limited time = complete the content get the reward
Not limited time = complete the content and pray to RNG lol
Making it some kind of a time walking event would be great for the game. Give people a chance to experience things they missed out on not only that but give them a chance for rewards as well.
Yeah, I totally agree since they were RNG they should have never been removed from the game.
Missing it once or twice I can understand but if you keep missing it after that
You know a whole year in advance that you need to schedule a day or whatever time off to work on it
Agree, I doubt they’ll bring it back too
No it’s not. You can’t take away the exclusive accomplishments of one group while leaving other groups with theirs.
Timewalking old events and prepatches would be cool
It would be a lot of fun!
Sure you can. You not liking it is not the same as it not being possible.
